Role Purpose To assess proposed waste streams, (primarily Soils) in accordance with current legislation and EA guidance, thus ensuring compliance whilst maximising waste inputs. Page: 1 of 3 To contribute to and maintain the expertise of the Technical compliance team in all matters related to waste acceptance. Key Responsibilities Monitor and Deal with all Soil and Other Hazardous and Difficult Waste Enquiries in a timely and efficient manner. (Technical assessment & appraisal of waste enquiries) Assist in developing Services to secure profitable Soils Business including Hazardous Soils, Non Hazardous Soils and Soils for Restoration. Develop relationships with customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders. Monitor Changes in Regulation and Guidance and work with other Group functions to implement change. Ensure that the Group operates in full Compliance with Regulations and Guidance. Develop cost effective Sampling Plans. Develop solutions to utilise other waste products for use in Restoration Soils. Liaise with Operational Teams to deliver required tonnages of Soils. Other Duties as required by the Company from time to time. Qualifications and Experience Preferable but not essential Degree level Strong understanding of Soil Chemistry Experience in managing Soils. Personal Qualities Preferable but not essential Technical understanding of all Acceptance Criteria for Soils & Waste Streams dealt with by company Commercial in outlook Page: 2 of 3 Customer Facing - capable of developing excellent relationships with customers and key stakeholders Comprehensive understanding of Regulations and Guidance Organised and methodical IT literate – competence in Word, PowerPoint skills, MS Excel and MS Project.
