SenSpot™: Strain Gauge Ultra Low Power Precision Sensing & Wireless Communication Typical Applications Bridge integrity monitoring system Structural health monitoring Aviation structural Monitoring Features Wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) Lightweight about 25 g Self-adhesive (no drilling is required) Easy mounting and quick installation (3-5 Strain Gauge SenSpot minutes) Long lifetime (minimum expected life is 20 years and its typical is 30 years) Adjustable temporal resolution Resolution: 1 µStrain Working temperature: -40 to +150°F (-40 to +65°C) Communication range: 1.3Km Small size: 1.3” x 3.5” x 0.55” Power source: built-in prime lithium-ion battery Description SenSpot sensors provide a low cost, easy to install, scalable solution for distributed structural integrity monitoring. Strain gauge sensor is one of the family members of the Resensys SenSpot™ Technology. Like other sensors in this family the unit is based on Active RF Technology (ART), which offers a high performance method for large-scale sensing, wireless synchronization, and ultra-low-power wireless communication. With ultra-low-power sensing and wireless communication technology Resensys LLC TEL: 301-405-9108 SenSpots are meant to operate maintenance-free for decades. This device is powered using a built-in prime lithium-ion battery which is designed to supply the energy needed for the device upto 30 years. After installation, the devices do not need any calibration, battery replacement, or other maintenance during their entire service life. Due to small size and lightweight, adhesive-mount SenSpot sensors can be applied easily to as many critical spots on structures as needed, with minimal installation effort. Attachment of SenSpots does not require drilling or any complicated mounting procedure. The average installation time for a strain gauge sensor is 3-5 minutes. As a part of the Resensys solution for integrity monitoring system strain gauge sensor can be used for measurement of strain on infrastructures. Such structures include but are not limited to bridges, building, etc. In addition, the sensor monitors changes in these parameters as the structure expands or contracts as a result of temperature variations. Any abnormality in the structure behavior is tracked and reported to the user using SenScope. Strain Gauge sensor uses cold cured adhesives for attachment to the structure.
