Northeast Athletic Boosters Meeting Secretary Report March 4, 2015 6:02pm @ Northeast High School Library President: Shawn Rathje called the meeting to order. Absent was Terri McCulley, Mike and Marci Rickords, Karen Mangelsen, Mike and Julie Bray, Todd and Jill Whitehead, Brad Stevenson. The minutes from the February meeting was approved. Bills were submitted to the Treasurer, Michelle Jacobsen. The treasurer’s report was read and approved. 1. Old Business: A. Projects Committee updates: Shawn Rathje told the booster members that the sink is and insulted. The TV’s are the main focus now for the Projects Committee. A new cabinet design is be done by Mr. Cox which means the school will purchase the cabinets for the concession stand and not the Athletic Boosters. The walls were painted white and that was donated by Terry Mohr. The countertop is not in yet. The goal is to have it all done before school is out. Mr. Cox would like to hold an open house before this school is done. The estimate bill that the Athletic Boosters will be responsible to pay for this project is around $1700.00. B. Concession stand: Patty Petersen has done the inventory of what we have left in the concession stand. She will get with the Track and Baseball/Softball teams and settle up with them on purchasing what is leftover. The Athletic Boosters do not run the concession stands for these 3 sports. The sports themselves run it as their fundraiser. C. The Fundraiser Committee: Eileen Petersen got more information on the stadium chairs that the Athletic Boosters are thinking about selling for the next fund raiser. She brought in a sheet from Lori Schmidt as to what they look like and the cost. Wendy Hines has one of these chairs already and she brought hers in to show what could be put on them for a logo. She would be willing to show hers off at the open house and then we could start taking orders then. The cost to us would be around $37.00 a chair. It could be more with the embroidering. Eileen Petersen will get the information to Gregg so we could start advertising it. D. Awards night: Gregg went through the BB/GB awards nights. It will be held on March 17 with the boys starting at 6:00 and then the girls to follow. The Wrestling awards are this Sunday, February 8. 2. New Business: A. Gregg brought in a schedule for all the Athletic Boosters to sign up for ticket taking for the Baseball/Softball games this summer. The sheet was passed around. B. The Athletic Boosters Annual Golf Outing: Nichole Cain spoke about this event. This event will be held on August 29 at Plum River Golf Course in Preston. It is a big fundraiser for the Athletic Boosters and a good time. We will have two tee times, one at 10:00am and the second one starting at 2:00pm. Nichole asked for more volunteers to help plan this event. Patty Petersen and Nate Kreinbrink said they would like to join. By the next meeting Nichole will have contacted Jim at Plum River and get some of the details. Also at the next meeting we will have to set a date for the committee to meeting and start planning this awesome event. C. Cleaning out the fridge and defrosting the freezer: Patty Petersen has already done that . D. New members: There are quite a few members that will be leaving the boosters after this year. There is sheet that the old Athletic Booster member gives their replacement to sign. This will be sent out with the minutes for everyone to have. At the April 8th meeting if it is possible, the Athletic Booster member that is leaving, ask your replacements to come to this meeting so they can meet everyone and see how much we have at our meetings. 3. Other: A. Gregg Mohl also told us that the school will be paying the Athletic Boosters a check for $946.13. This is for the hours we as Athletic Boosters worked, taking tickets at our athletic events. B. Patty Petersen also brought up an idea for next year. What if a news letter was sent out each month to all the district residents. This news letter could replace the Athletic Calendar that is no longer available. This might please some of our elderly fans that want to come and support our schools functions. The next meeting will be held April 8, 2015 @ 6:00 at the Northeast High School Media Center Meeting adjourned at 6:40 Respectfully submitted Nichole Cain –Secretary.
