GUIDANCE FOR REFEREES – ASSOCIATE FELLOW

The University of Hull has developed a Framework for Continuing Professional Development for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education which is based on Disciplinary Approaches to

Research and Teaching Excellence (DARTE)

It has been developed against the UK Professional Standards Framework for Learning and

Teaching (UKPSF) which is administered in the sector by the Higher Education Academy

(HEA)

The referees’ responsibility is to act in a peer review capacity and to confirm the evidence which the participant has put forward in their application to the Academic Practice Standards

Panel. You therefore need to support, and where possible, add to the submission for evidence for Learning and Teaching against the criteria below. Please provide examples from your knowledge of the participant ’s contribution to learning and teaching in the Faculty and/or subject area. Whilst research forms an important dimension to learning and teaching, this submission for recognition is not for research. Therefore, please limit research examples only to where it directly informs or underpins teaching practice.

The participant needs to submit the application, together with your reference, to Learning

Enhancement and Academic Practice (LEAP). You should not submit it directly. The panel may ask for further clarification from you at a later date on evidence you have provided.

Success in the application will result in the participant being awarded Associate Fellow
