* We encourage all parents and teachers to attend meetings throughout the year when your schedule permits. The PTO relies on a network of parent volunteers to
support numerous programs designed to enhance the educational opportunities of Mariemont Elementary students. We greatly appreciate any time you are able to
provide as a volunteer throughout the year. However, please know that PTO Membership does not require you to volunteer. Our goal is 100% membership!

COSI
The Columbus Center for Science and Industry visits our school to conduct a half-day
science program.

Walk-a-Thon
A yearly fundraiser where the students enjoy a day of fun and fitness while they raise
money for our school.

Student Art Show
The students put on a great Art Show each year.
☐
Teacher Hospitality
The PTO organizes year-long events and luncheons for the staff as well as coordinates a
Teacher Appreciation Week in early May.

Birthday Book Club
Students are invited to a special celebration during a school lunch. The birthday child
selects a book to donate to our library and then a permanent book plate, with the child’s
name and birth date, is placed inside the book. The birthday child is then the first person
to check out the book.

Caring / Sharing
For over 25 years, Mariemont Elementary families have come together to brighten the
holidays of families in need in our community.

Grandparent Day
We welcome all parents and grandparents to spend some time in the morning with
your
student / grandchildren. November 25, 2014.

Thanksgiving Food
Drive
Benefiting the Madisonville Education and Assistance Center, items will be collected in
boxes placed in classroom during the week prior to Thanksgiving.
Girls may attend with an adult, male figure (father, grandfather, uncle, etc). The intent is for
the gentlemen to provide a positive experience for the girls in a fun, festive environment.

Vision and Hearing
Tests
Volunteers work with the school nurse to coordinate and administer vision and hearing
screenings for students in grades 1, 3 and 5.

Landscaping
Committee to plan and coordinate the maintenance of the school grounds.

Yearbook
A yearly book for purchase that highlights each class and all events throughout the year.

Talent Show
The Mariemont Elementary Talent Show is a much-anticipated event for parents, students
and teachers alike! The talent show takes place each year in late winter/early spring, and
sign-ups usually happen in February each year.

Carnival
This Mariemont tradition featuring games, inflatables, food and fun is held once a year.

Book Fair
Scholastic Book Fairs, held twice a year, raise money for new library books.
