New Parish Pastoral Council
Official Commissioning /Parish Blessing
The new Council will be officially blessed and commissioned by the St. Attracta’s
Parish Community at the 11.30a.m. Mass on Sunday 28th April 2013. This is a
special Parish Event and as many parishioners as possible are heartily invited to
attend and join in. It will be an opportunity to meet and greet the new Council
Members. There will be a cup of tea and hospitality after the Mass – a chance to
chat, talk and share ideas. The new team will give of their best but depend for
success on the co-operation and hard work of all parishioners.

Why Not Study Theology?
There was never a better time to study theology, when the upheavals in the Church
have prompted people to think again about their faith. What was once taken for
granted is now questioned, and most people are not satisfied with superficial
answers. This is true for people of all ages and backgrounds.
In 2000 the Dominicans in Tallaght established the Priory Institute to respond to this
growing need. From a long tradition of theology going back to St. Thomas Aquinas,
they have designed an accredited theology programme to meet the needs of ordinary
people around the country. The programme is offered by distance learning, and is
very affordable.
Participants can study from home, with tutorial support via e-mail and web-based
video lectures and discussion fora. They can earn a Higher Certificate, Diploma
and/or a BA (Honours) degree in theology.

Despite the fantastic efforts of their
volunteers, due to severe weather on
Daffodil Day they are 50% down on
vital funds. If you didn’t get the
opportunity to support their most
important appeal, your donation is
still needed to help fund their care
and support programmes for people
living with, and affected by cancer
and to fund more cancer research.
They rely on the public to fund 95%
of their free services. You can send a
donation to Irish Cancer Society,
43/45 Northumberland Road or text
DAFF to 50300 to donate €4.
