OBJECTIVE This SOP aims to explain the procedure, requirement and time needed in the composing of lecture and practicum scheduling plan for the students of the bachelor’s degree programs. 2. SCOPES The scopes of Lecture and Practicum Scheduling SOP comprise: 2.1. The procedure and requirement needed in the composing of lecture and practicum scheduling plan for the students of the bachelor’s degree programs. 2.2. The improvement in the lecture and practicum scheduling plan for the students of the bachelor’s degree programs. 2.3. The parties involved in the composing of the lecture and practicum scheduling plan for the students of the bachelor’s degree programs. 3. DEFINITIONS 3.1. Lectures are the teaching-learning activities consisting of lectures, practicums and exams. 3.2. Practicums are the teaching-learning activities that involve lecturers (can be aided by assistants) and students that emphasize on the psychomotor (skill) aspect in the form of practice or response. 3.3. The composing of lecture and practicum scheduling plan for the students of the bachelor’s degree programs of IPB is the process of organizing the schedule of lectures and practicums that are going to be implemented by the students in the next semester. 3.4. Scheduling includes the scheduling for lectures and practicums. REFERENCE 4.1. The Guidelines for Bachelor’s degree programs of IPB Year 2014 5. GENERAL PROVISIONS 5.1. The implementation of lectures and practicums for regular semester and short course has to be in accordance with the schedule set by Dit. AP (the Directorate of Education Administration of IPB). 5.2. Changes on lecture/practicum schedule have to be approved by the Head of Department and Dit AP. 5.3. If the lectures and practicums are according to the schedule but coincide with a holiday that is stipulated after, Dit AP will determines the schedule to substitute the lectures and practicums. 5.4. Lecture/practicum schedule is stipulated at the beginning of each semester. 6. PROCEDURE 6.1. Procedure details 6.1.1. DIT AP decides on the lecture and practicum schedule for the students of the bachelor’s degree programs for the next semester by referencing to the previous year lecture and practicum schedule and send it to each department 2-3 months before the lectures and practicums begin. 6.1.2. The Department, in this case the Education Commission (Komdik), receives the schedule stipulated by DIT AP and then discusses it first with the education division and Department Secretary. 6.1.3. The temporary draft of the lecture and practicum schedule is then discussed in the Department’s weekly meeting (on Wednesday) between Head of Department, Department Secretary, Komdik and other lecturer staff to see if changes are needed. 6.1.4. The temporary draft of the corrected lecture and practicum schedule is returned to DIT AP to be stipulated. 6.1.5. The final meeting between Dit AP and Komdik is held to match the revised schedule to room capacity and requirement from the Department. 6.1.6. The Department, including lecturer team, receives the corrected schedule from DIT AP. Through the weekly meeting, the Department meet the lecturer staff to discuss the final lecture and practicum schedule, including discussion on schedule, lecturer staff allocation (lecturer team for each course), Teaching and Learning Program Guidelines (GBPP), Learning Unit (SAP), contracts, and lecture materials, by latest five days before the new semester begins. 6.1.8. A week after the lecture activities begin, students are obligated to report to the Department if there is a problem in lecture/practicum schedule and the Department will then submit an official request to change the schedule to Dit.
