A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF HALLANDALE BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING
BID# FY 2014-2015-008 FOR LOT CLEARING AND RELATED
SERVICES FOR BOTH CITY MAINTAINED PROPERTIES AND
CRA OWNED PROPERTIES TO GARDEN OF BEAUTY, INC. IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY THOUSAND ONE
HUNDRED ($60,100.00) DOLLARS EACH YEAR FOR THREE
YEARS FOR ZONES ONE (1) THROUGH THREE (3), AND TO
AWARD TO SOSA DUST BUSTERS FOR ZONE FOUR (4) AT A
NOT TO EXCEED COST OF ONE CENT ($.01) PER SQUARE
FOOT EACH YEAR FOR THREE (3) YEARS; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Hallandale Beach and the Hallandale Beach Community
Redevelopment Agency currently own vacant land that requires ongoing lot clearing and mowing; and
WHEREAS, on February 4, 2015, the City of Hallandale Beach released an invitation to bid (“ITB”) for lot clearing services for both City maintained properties and
CRA owned properties; and
WHEREAS, Bid #2014-2015-008 for Lot Clearing and related services was emailed to fifty four (54) vendors that provide this type of service; and
WHEREAS, the scope of services in the bid were divided into three (3) zones:
CRA properties, FEC right of way, and Foster Road corridor, while a fourth zone includes the cost per square foot for any future lots that may be added during the term of the contract; and
WHEREAS, on March 13, 2015, the City received 10 (10) responses, of which three (3) were responsive. The three (3) responsive bids include Sosa Dust Busters and
Garden of Beauty, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, after reviewing the bids, the City Administration concluded that it would be in the best interest of the residents to award partial bids to Sosa Dust Busters and Garden of Beauty, Inc. based on individual zone costs; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends awarding a partial bid of
#FY2014-2015-008 to Garden of Beauty, Inc., for zones one (1), two (2), and three (3), and a partial bid for zone four (4) to Sosa Dust Busters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY

Section 1.
Award of Bid #2014-2015-008 to Garden of Beauty, Inc., and
Sosa Dust Busters.
The Mayor and City Commission hereby award Bid #FY 2014-2015-
008 to Garden of Beauty, Inc., for an amount not to exceed sixty thousand one hundred dollars ($60,100.00) each year for a period of three (3) years for zones one (1) through three (3). It also awards Bid #FY-2014-2015-008 to Sosa Dust Busters for an amount not to exceed one cent ($.01) per square foot each year for a period of three (3) years.
Section 2. City Manager Authorization. The Mayor and the City Commission hereby authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents to effectuate the project.
Section 2 . Effective Date : This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.
