Our goal is to educate our members and the public about the disease, treatment and prevention while also focusing on the perspectives of the patient, family and doctors in the fight against cancer. Our education component hosts seminars by research professors, doctors, patients and their families, and members of cancer support organizations. Our community service and outreach projects provide opportunities for students to volunteer and earn experience by working with our community affiliates in the fight against cancer. o We have organized donation drives for Seattle Children’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Department, bone marrow donor registration drives and fundraisers for cancer research organizations. Currently we are working with the Puget Sound Blood Center and the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry Program to develop the new Cancer Crusaders Bone Marrow Team. By working with official representatives we will help select a dedicated group of 12-16 students with the Puget Sound Blood Center as recruitment volunteers to organize and conduct bone marrow donor registration drives at various events on campus and in the community. Come join our meetings, upcoming events, or information sessions to learn more about our RSO (Registered Student Organization) and our selective application process. As a newly re-organized club on campus we have opportunities for students to take on leadership positions.
