Stinnette, x6233, mjstinnette@sbc.edu) Tasks to be performed: • Help lab users when problems arise • Help maintain lab computers • Help enforce lab rules (i.e. no food or drink allowed in the lab) • Clean the lab as needed Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed: • General familiarity with computers • Good “people skills” Instructional Technology Assistant, I (Supervisor: Tom Marcais, x6542, tmarcais@sbc.edu) Tasks to be performed: • Prepare computers with sample files for training courses • Make copies of training documentation • Assist during training courses • Research technology topics • Create training videos Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed: • General familiarity with computers • Good people skills • Required to attend any computer training course that does not conflict with academic/athletic schedule Instructional Technology Assistant, II (Supervisor: Tom Marcais, x6542, tmarcais@sbc.edu) Tasks to be performed: • Prepare computers with sample files for training courses • Make copies of training documentation • Assist during training courses • Research technology topics • Create training videos • Develop training material • Conduct training sessions • Provide one-on-one technical support • Coordinate activities with other Instructional Technology Assistants Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed: • Must have completed all of the computer training courses • Required to attend any newly created computer training courses • Ability to trouble-shoot and solve computer problems • Good people skills Academic Technology Support Academic Technology Support Assistant, I (Supervisor: M.J. Stinnette, x6233, mjstinnette@sbc.edu) Tasks to be preformed: • Answers the phone in the department • Checks out the equipment and fill out an online Help Desk ticket • Takes as many non-credit computer classes as possible • Assists the Assistant to Academic Tech Support Coordinator when necessary Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed: • Be able to work at least 10 hours a week • Willingness to be flexible at times, night work may be required • Knows how to assist faculty with classroom equipment (on job training) • Know how to fix simple problems on media equipment (will have on job training) • Does not need to know Media equipment, will be trained • Technical mind helpful • Must have a driver's license Academic Technology Support Assistant, II (Supervisor: M.J. Stinnette, x6233, mjstinnette@sbc.edu) Tasks to be performed: • Deliver and set up media equipment at designated location • Edit materials using iMovie and iDVD software • Show films and operate media equipment • Pick up media equipment from designated locations Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed: • Must be able to lift 30 pounds • Must have good “people skills” • Must have good work attitude • Must be willing to work nights and occasionally weekends • Must be dependable and able to work without direct supervision • Must be willing to learn how to operate an Apple computer, software, DVD, VCR and other media equipment • Inquisitive and technical mind helpful • Must be willing to learn how to fix basic equipment • Must be willing to work 5-10 hours per week • Must feel comfortable reporting to a student supervisor • Must realize this a service job where doing something for someone is your priority while on the job • Must have a driver's license Assistant to Student Assistant, III (Supervisor: M.J. Stinnette, x6233, mjstinnette@sbc.edu) Tasks to be preformed: • Must at all times know what the student assistant is doing so she can step in as needed • This person must know both Windows and Apple • Takes as many non-credit computer classes as possible • She may be asked to assist the non-credit computer teacher • It will help if she knows basic software, i.e. power point and photo elements etc. • Will assist in doing equipment repair • Will know media set-ups and how to troubleshoot • May be asked to assist Co-Curricular Life in set ups for weekend programming • Should be able to operate all equipment in Media Services Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed: • Must have a driver's license Academic Technology Support Coordinator Assistant, IV (Supervisor: M.J. Stinnette, x6233, mjstinnette@sbc.edu) Tasks to be preformed: • Oversees student workers in Academic Tech Support on a daily basis • Does all scheduling of student workers each semester • Set up work schedule on Academic Tech Support Google calendar • Should be able to operate all media equipment • Responsible for student time sheets • Is responsible in securing students to work after hours at school events when needed • Has the duty of making sure substitutes are available when the student worker can not find one • Takes as many non-credit computer classes as possible • Makes sure the equipment room is picked up and organized • Keeps Help Desk tickets up to date • Follows up when equipment is not returned • Is back up in Academic Tech Support if the Coordinator is out sick or on vacation • Must check emails several times a day and phone messages and organize requests Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed: • Must have a driver's license
