Front Desk Office Assistant, I (Supervisor: Kerri Bond, x6142,

Tasks to be performed:
• Greeting visitors in the Admissions Office
• Attending the Front Desk
• Answering the main office phone
• Organizing folders for visitors
Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed:
• Well-spoken/articulate
• Responsible
• Required to work a minimum of 2 Saturday mornings per month (8:30 a.m. –
12:00 noon)
• First year students are encouraged to apply
Office Assistant, I (Supervisor: Kerri Bond, x6142, kbond@sbc.edu)
Tasks to be performed:
• Process outgoing mail
• Filing
• Data lookup
• Organizing and assembling folders and other materials for Open House events
• Answering the main office phone

• Required to work 4 – 6 hours per week

Counselor Office Assistant, II (Supervisor: Kerri Bond, x6142,

Tasks to be performed:
Phone, email, and written correspondence with prospective students
• Creating and maintaining documents in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Assisting with events planning and scheduling
• Possibly accompanying an admissions counselor to local school visits and
college fairs
• Staffing admissions events
• Assisting with any other recruitment projects
• Required to work 2 – 6 hours per week

Recruiting Assistant, I (Supervisor: Kerri Bond, x6142, kbond@sbc.edu)
Tasks to be performed:
• Filing, photocopying, and light typing
• Creating documents in Microsoft and Excel
• Assist with event planning and scheduling
• Accompany a counselor to local schools and college fairs
• Participate in admissions events
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to work unsupervised
• Days/times are flexible; 6-10 hours per week required

Tasks to be performed:
• Familiarize themselves with the tour guide manual
• Shadow experienced guides during tours
• Give practice tours to trained guides and admissions counselors
• Complete/attends various training sessions

• Required to work a minimum of 2 hours per week
• Must be willing to assist with weekend events on occasion
• Must complete at least one semester as a Sweet Briar student
First Year Admissions Docent, II (Supervisor: Grace Loughhead, x6713,
gloughhead@sbc.edu)
Tasks to be performed:
• Regular office hours to be held
• Tours prospective families/students
• Assists with basic office functions
• Participates in campus events, open houses, etc.
Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed:
• Must have completed one full semester of training
• Required to work a minimum of 2 hours per week
• Occasional weekend work during open house and other events
Second Year Admissions Docent, III (Supervisor: Grace Loughhead, x6713,
gloughhead@sbc.edu)
Tasks to be performed:
• Assist with training and mentoring of guides
• More independent work on office projects
• Regular office hours and touring
• Assist with campus events, open houses, etc.
Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed:
• Must have served as a guide for two consecutive semesters, not including the
training semester
• Required to work a minimum of 2hours per week
• Occasional weekend work during open houses and campus events
Docent Chair Woman, IV (Supervisor: Grace Loughhead, x6713,
gloughhead@sbc.edu)
Tasks to be performed:
• Scheduling for all guides
• Organization of guides for all events
• Communications assistant to group
• Assist with training
• Regular touring and office hours
• Plan and execute monthly training meetings
Academic prerequisites, skills, and experience needed:
• Must be a senior or junior with exceptional maturity, tour ability and
organizational skills
• Must have served as a guide for at least 1.5 full years
• Must be mature and diplomatic
• Required to work a minimum of 3 hours per week
• Must be available to work open houses
Hostess, II (Supervisor: Catherine Gumpman, x6735, cgumpman@sbc.edu)
Tasks to be preformed:
• Required to host students for individual overnight visits
• Required to host students for open houses
• Responsible for keeping paperwork up to date and turned in to Hostess Chair
in a timely manner
• Asked to have bedding cleaned and room prepared before student arrives
Hostess Chairwoman, III (Supervisor: Catherine Gumpman, x6735,
cgumpman@sbc.edu)
Tasks to be preformed:
• Will oversee two paid hostesses
• Responsible for matching prospective students spending the night with
hostesses
• Recruits hostesses for open houses
• Hand match each prospective student with a hostess based on the student and
prospective interests and activities
• Will maintain all paperwork from hostesses regarding students
• Will assist hostess advisor (Sabrina) with any hostess related task
• Responsible for communicating with hostesses
