PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE (Letter # 1)
Dear Parent,
Cobb County Middle Schools are pleased to have the opportunity to schedule conferences with parents during the month of
October. We feel that parents and teachers working together can provide the best educational program for your child. Our
goal is to give you the information that you need in a format that fits your schedule. We value your time as well as our staff
members, and we want to continue to make conference week more beneficial for our students, parents, and teachers. These
options are described below and include, a traditional face-to-face conference, a phone conference or you may determine
that a conference is not necessary at this time because you take advantage of the online options to continually monitor your
child’s progress. It is important to note that with the semester system in place, the grades that will be shared at conference
time are a summary of your student’s progress at that point. The actual report cards will be issued after first semester ends
on Friday, December 18.
OPTION 1: A face-to-face traditional conference where you can sit down with one of your child’s teachers. You
will receive your child’s grades and an overview of his/her progress in all areas.
OPTION 2: A phone conference where you can talk with one of your child’s teachers to discuss their academic
progress and a progress summary report will be send home with your child on Wednesday, October 21, 2015.
OPTION 3: You have determined that no conference is necessary at this time, but you would like a progress
summary report which will be sent home with your child on Wednesday, October 21, 2015.
Please keep in mind that elementary school conferences will be scheduled during the same week as middle school
conferences. Conferences scheduled will be limited to twenty minutes. We are asking that children not be brought to the
conference if at all possible. During conference week, students will be dismissed at approximately 2:15 p.m.
