UCM Faculty Guide VI. External Relations D. GUEST LECTURERS, SPEAKERS Persons from off campus are frequently invited to lecture to classes, speak to student or faculty organizations, address dinner groups and other gatherings, or present a public address for an admission charge. In general, the faculty member responsible for the program will extend the invitation and make necessary arrangements. Sponsoring faculty members, of course, may not contract for the university or commit the university to the support of expenses or honoraria without administrative concurrence. Instructors making such arrangements should consult with their department chairs and deans. Reviewed October 2015
