Recovery from the Memorial Day Weekend Floods and Tornadoes: Thank you for your donations to the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team (BCLTRT) of $1080. It will be used to purchase materials like cabinets, sheetrock, and flooring for some of the 70+ homes that are to be worked on so that families can get back in their homes by Thanksgiving. Our church is signed up to bring in volunteers to work on some of the homes for 2 Saturdays (Sept 26 and Oct 3). Skilled or unskilled, we need your help! Please let Julie Smith, Jan Goebel, or the church office know if you can join us for one or both Saturdays. Also, if you have used furniture or appliances you would like to donate to these families, please call the church office to arrange for it to be picked up from you. Thank you so much. Honoring Our Heritage thru Windows of Faith The 180th Anniversary Celebration of our church is Sunday, September 20 at 12:30pm in Fellowship Hall. We'll start the celebration with a barbeque meal and cake followed by a service that includes history of the stained glass windows in the sanctuary and special music. Come and sing! I have a lost & found “window” in the church office. Currently I have two Bibles in it. One has the name Ashley embossed on the front. The other has the name Jennifer Jones in it. If either of these belongs to you, please come claim them. Office hours are 9-4, Monday thru Friday, closed for lunch approximately 12-1. Thank you! On Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM, a new Young Adult Sunday School Class will begin in the Parlor in the Fellowship Hall. Come and check us out! We’d love to have you join us! In the fellowship hall foyer, there has been a plaque mounted honoring the Beck and Maynard families for their gracious gifts to our church. The cedar base on which the plaques are mounted was crafted by Jim Berkner. Many thanks to them all! REMINDER: HOTEL/SAMPLE SIZE HYGIENE products needed! Bring your hotel/sample shampoos, soap, lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. to the Hygiene Box in our Collections Cabinet in the Fellowship Hall entry. The collection box is available year round, and most stores carry sample size hygiene products. Currently, United Methodist Women are collecting these for a Family Crisis Center mission project. At other times, the HealthCare Committee distributes the items to local soup kitchen/indigent agencies. Your generosity is appreciated and reaches area individuals and families in need! Contact Debbie Meyer, 512-321-6553, or middlenurse@yahoo.com for more information.
