“Town squares” and “Across the Ocean” pg. 34-43, students draw conclusions
about America and Japan, Mrs. Campbell’s groups – intro new vocab tg 86,
students complete wksh #108 and read “Pictures” and “One Moment” for fluency
practice and drawing conclusions
Assessment: observation, fluency check, check responses to wksh 107 and
108
Third group works on SuccessMaker or Study Island on the computers,
groups rotate throughout the week

what it means to compare and contrast information from a nonfiction text, students
complete wksh #87 and go over, students read passage “Where We Are” and
“Underwater Hide and Seek”, compare and contrast on a Venn diagram to see how under
water exploration has changed over time
Mrs. Campbell’s group – go over new vocab from wksh #85 – students look up words in
glossary, students complete wksh #85, read “Rescued” orally working on vocab and
fluency
