Dr. Barton is the Associate Program Director for the internal medicine residency program at Penn. He is also a recipient of the Penn Pearls teaching award in 2010 and has taught as part of the Medical Education Frontiers course. This talk will focus on how to be an effective teacher as an upper-level med student, intern, or resident. So come enjoy the view from BRB 14 while soaking in some of Dr. Barton's teaching wisdom. After the talk Dr. Barton will be open for questions on his lecture and also on making medical education a part of your career. MS3 Monthly Happy Hour Student Group: MSG MS3 Class Reps When: Every Third Thursday (Next: May 9th, 6p) Where: New Deck Tavern Contact: Jillian Davenport/Betsy Goodman (jsola@mail.med.upenn.edu) Open to: MS3s These are monthly happy hours at New Deck Tavern where MS3s can catch up with one another now that we're all moving along with different schedules. They will occur on the third Thursday of each block so that if an MS3 must miss one due to scheduling conflicts, they can attend the next one the following month. b. Israel Give & Tech Group: Birthright Israel When: July Where: NYC/Israel Contact: tatyana@israelfreespirit.com Israel Give & Tech is a brand-new Taglit-Birthright Israel trip, in conjunction with Israel Free Spirit. It's designed for Jewish people interested in experiencing how Israel uses its technological innovation for tikkun olam, or repairing the world. This free 10-day trip will depart from New York in early July. It is open to applicants from USA and Canada, however all participants are responsible for their travel to and from the US gateway city of departure. Registration is now open.
