Hidden Electronic Fuel Injection
Thank you for inquiring about our EFI kits. Below is a brief description of what the kits do
and how they work.
PART # JB001. EFI kit to suit Enderle Bug or Bird Injectors.
This kit allows 8 injectors to be mounted inside an ENDERLE BUG or BIRD injector. The
kit consists of a base plate with built in support beams that locate the bottom of the
injectors. Then the two fuel rails are installed over the injectors clamping them into place.
The fuel enters the rear of the base plate via a #8 fitting, flowing through the vertical
bracket and into the rails. Excess fuel exits via the other #8 fitting.
After the injectors are installed, connect all the wiring plugs to the injectors and then
neatly cable tie the wiring loom (Part # JB1W) to the fuel rails, pass the wires through the
small hole between the two #8 fittings. Using a fuel resistant sealer fill the hole that the
wires are exiting from. Push the sealer in from one side of the plate with a corking gun
until it has completely passed the through the entire hole. Note: Failure to do this will
cause a vacuum leak and erratic idle.
This is what it looks like with a Bug Injector PART # E-4005 and the standard stainless
steel mechanical lines are left on. We can modify these lines so they are used for the brake
vacuum system, making it look like its running mechanical injection.
There are two Enderle Bug injectors to choose from, PART # E-4005 is the smooth top
unit and PART # E-4005F is the finned unit. Both work exactly the same and have the
same butterfly diameters.
Both Bug and Bird injectors come with red butterflies as standard but are available with a
variety of colours.
Also available is Blue, Purple, black and plain.
We can close off 1 or 2 of the outer butterflies by adding internal panels, this eliminates
airflow from that particular butterfly which helps with low RPM throttle control, for street
cruising cars there is minimal HP loss. The reason for doing this is that there is so much
butterfly area that even when you just crack the throttle to move off from a stand still they
let so much air through that the car will want to accelerate too much. By reducing the
butterfly area this issue is reduced.
All of our components are available black anodised.
PART # JB007. INBUG EFI kit for Enderle Bug & Bird Injectors.
The JB007 unit works exactly like the JB001, the only difference is the height. By fitting
the kit into the injector we have been able to remove the base plate which is 1” (25mm
thick) Great when you have height issues.
We can also machine the base of the injector approx 9/16” (15mm); this lowers the
injector even further.
Fuel enters and exits the injector via the two #8 fittings at the rear of the hat; the #6
fitting in the middle is where the wiring passes through.
The JB007 kit requires us to machine the injector hat to custom fit. We can supply a
complete Bug or Bird with the JB007 already done or if you already have an injector you
can send it to us where we will fit it to your injector.
PART # JB005. Big & Ugly EFI kit
The JB005 unit has been designed to fit inside the Enderle Big & Ugly injector PART # EBAU. Due to the sloppy design of the injector we have had to move the injectors forward to
clear the injector casting
Another option we offer is if you run manifold port injectors and dont want to run all 8
injectors in the hat, we can plug 4 of the ports in the fuel rails.
This is what a BIG and Ugly Injector looks like, they come in two height options, 8.75”
short or 10.5” tall.
Butterfly diameters to choose from are;
3 9/16”
4 3/8”
5” and
5 9/16”
There is also a progressive linkage kit option with these hats; this lets one butterfly
operate on its own giving you good low RPM control. When the throttle is increased the
other two butterflies start to open and catch up to give all 3 fully open.
Blanking off 1 or 2 of the butterflies is very easy using our blanking caps which are
installed behind the butterfly and are unseen.
We also have a filter which can be installed into any operating butterflies to filter the air.
This is PART # JB-BAUBRKT, it’s a billet throttle lever to suit the BAU injectors, and we
only drill a pilot ¼” hole where the cable goes so you can drill it out to suit almost any
cable you want.
With EFI the ECU (computer) needs to know where the throttle position is, so this is a
rotary switch that is connected to the throttle and sends information back to the ECU.
The switch we use is PART # JB-TPS.
We have designed two TPS housings that fit PART # JB-TPS and fit all Enderle injectors.
They look and mount like the mechanical barrel valves. The switch is hidden inside the
housing and the wires are run inside the stainless steel line or some braided hose.
PART # JB002. Nitro Style TPS (Throttle Position Switch) Housing.
Part # JB003. Square Style TPS Housing.
Both TPS housings are available in either Polished or Black anodised.
Adjusting the TPS is via the linkage turn buckle that connects it to the butterfly shaft.
When fully installed your engine will look just like a mechanically injected race engine but
with the adjustability and drivability of EFI.
The ECU is the brains of the EFI system, we sell the EMS line of computers, and they
have many years of experience in EFI systems and offer great products and stand behind
their brand with ongoing support.
EMS will pre program your ECU to suit your engines requirements so your engine will fire
up easily ready for a final dyno tune.
Depending on your set up and requirements they have a variety of ECU’s to cover your
needs.
Call us to discuss your needs and we can determine what’s best for you.
We can supply everything you need for your EFI conversion. Not only will it be easier for
you but we have been doing this for years so we know what works and what doesn’t.
