Annalee Witte is currently serving as the Indiana FFA State Secretary. She is 18
years old and the daughter of Mike and Jana Witte. Annalee is excited to serve
the Indiana FFA and all its members.
During Annalee’s four years wearing the blue jacket, she has been highly
competitive and incredibly active. She has been an officer at the chapter and
district level. She served as the Vice President of Eastern Hancock FFA for the
2012-2013 year and the 2013-2014 year. This past year she served as the
Treasurer for her chapter. At the district level, she served as the Reporter for the
2013-2014 year and as the Secretary for the 2014-2015 year. In addition to these
leadership positions, Annalee has also attended Premier Leadership Training,
CDE Camp, FIRE, and SOAR. She volunteered as a conference counselor at both SOAR and FIRE. One of
Annalee’s favorite trips to take with her FFA chapter has been state and national convention. She has attended
both for the past four years and has participated in the community service projects hosted at each one, including
Kids Against Hunger meal packing events. Annalee has a passion for mentoring younger members, especially in
leadership CDE’s. She enjoys helping younger members prepare for their competitions at district and state
convention.
While helping others with their competitions, Annalee is also highly competitive in her own. She has won the
District VIII prepared public speaking contest every year but one. In 2015, she won the State Prepared Public
Speaking CDE. She has also achieved 1st at State in the extemporaneous public speaking CDE, 3rd at District in
horticulture demonstration, 4th at State in food science demonstration, 4th at Nationals in parliamentary procedure,
1st at District in extemporaneous public speaking, 2nd at District in plant and soil science demonstration, and 1st
at District in job interview. While Annalee mainly focuses on leadership CDE’s, she has competed in a variety of
other CDE’s as well. At the National level she was a gold emblem individual with her team achieving silver in
the Food Science CDE. She was on the 9th place State Livestock Judging Team, and placed in the top ten numerous
times with her Forestry Team.
Annalee has two SAE’s—Home and Community Development and Diversified Livestock. She is most passionate
about her Home and Community Development SAE. This SAE has two parts—outreach and education. For
outreach, Annalee volunteers her time at the Hancock Hope House Thrift Store and Homeless Shelter as their
spokesperson and cashier weekly. She helps provide food and shelter to needy families in Rush, Shelby, and
Hancock County. In addition to this, she also helps run the Eastern Hancock Food Pantry, helping to feed 65
students in her school every week. For education, she works with NineStar Connect Films, hosting her own TV
show called Out and About with Annalee. The show spotlights small businesses, community events, and
agriculture. Her diversified livestock SAE focuses on her family farm. Annalee grew up raising sheep, cattle, and
showing hogs.
Annalee has been active in many community organizations including the Women’s Resource Center, 4-H, and
Junior Leaders. She developed her own program called Little Princess to teach young girls about positive selfimage through the Women’s Resource Center. She is a 10 year member in 4-H and has served as President of her
4-H club. She was also the President of her Junior Leaders Club and enjoys the monthly meetings and community
service opportunities that come with it.
Annalee graduated with academic honors from Eastern Hancock High School. She will attend Purdue University
as a Presidential Scholar to major in Agriculture Communications, Marketing, and Sales with minors in Political
Science and Spanish in the Honors College. Annalee hopes to one day work for an agricultural company advising
on policy issues.
