In the Beginning
• I majored in Ag Ed mainly because of my
farm experience and because of my
mother’s background in education.
• I liked both ag and education – Both ag
teachers were good people and had a
positive influence on me.
• I once thought about becoming a coach
• When I went to college I had to declare a
major so I said Ag Ed.
Continued…
• I once, during the 2nd year, thought about
changing majors. But the kind and gentle old
advisor talked me into sticking with Ag Ed a little
longer. At the time I had not taken a single ag ed
course.
• I became active in FFA, B&B and some non ag
clubs.
• Because I had started college when I was 17, I
was able to graduate in three years by going in
the summers and at the age of 20 and started
teaching.
• So I became an FFA Advisor at the ag of 20…
