Poznań, 13.10.2015 PRESS RELEASE TOUR SALON 2015 BUSINESS & PASSION 15-17 October 2015 This is where business meets passion - the 26th edition of TOUR SALON 2015 tourism fair will be held 15-17 October 2015. The business platform will gather professionals from the broadly defined tourism industry and all the tourism organisations, chambers and associations from Poland and many entities from abroad. In addition to the fair, substantively attractive accompanying events will be another pretext to visit Poznań. The interested declared they wanted to attend the event until the last minute. Approximately 300 Polish and foreign companies will participate in TOUR SALON. Green Velo is this year's macro-region partner of TOUR SALON – it is a cycling route which will run through five provinces: lubelskie, podkarpackie, podlaskie, świętokrzyskie and warmińsko-mazurskie. In addition, this year Tour Salon has started cooperating with Poznańska Lokalna Organizacja Turystyczna /Poznań Tourism Organisation/ which also has become an official partner of the event. Just as last year, the organisers addressed the expectations of professionals for whom entry upon registration is free. Also, the initiative to facilitate professionals access to the fair is continued. On the first day of the event, on Thursday, chartered buses will bring the professionals from three cardinal directions - Warsaw, Gdynia and Kraków - directly to the trade fair halls and they will take them home even on the same day. The cost of the travel is symbolic because both one-way and return tickets will cost only PLN 10. Always on time – TOUR SALON BLOG MEETING Every TOUR SALON was the arena where the most topical issues were discussed and the 26th edition will not be different. For the first time, TOUR SALON Blog Meeting will be held during TOUR SALON. The event is equally important for bloggers, exhibitors and other people working in the industry. If anybody plans to promote through bloggers, but they do not know how to start, then they will find valuable tips in Poznań. During specialised lectures available to everyone, the participants will learn what are the best and most effective ways of cooperation with bloggers, what to expect, what goals to set, but also why such a cooperation not always is successful. The panel will also include a debate with the theme expressed by the slogan: "How to cooperate with the blogger sensibly, that is, why it is not worth to stick to the agreed plan". Moreover, TOUR SALON Blog Meeting participants will participate in a matchmaking session, during which each party (bloggers and exhibitors) will have a few minutes to meet each other and present the offer of cooperation, the details of which will be further discussed at the exhibitors' stands. Thirty bloggers, including some popular ones and those often rewarded in their categories in prestigious rankings, confirmed their participation in the congress Bloggers will be at the fair for all three days. A little something for hoteliers The first edition of The Hotel Marketing Conference organised in cooperation with Poznań International Fair and Profitroom will be held during TOUR SALON. The HMC 2015 will be devoted to hotel marketing. The HMC is two days filled with inspirational lectures, discussions and workshops, but also backroom talks. We will learn about trends in marketing, sales of hotel services and new tools. The participants will gain fresh ideas, business contacts and an opportunity to exchange experiences. VAT in tourism A one-day conference on VAT on tourist services is divided into four thematic blocks, each of which will last approx. 1.5 h. Then, the organisers will focus on specific issues relating to hoteliers, travel agents and agents. After each part of the training, the participants will have the opportunity to consult experts in the field of VAT. Corporate and group travel If you are looking for new directions in incentive tourism, you will find practical tips during the seminar entitled "Five innovative proposals for corporate and group travelling". The seminar topics will include new travel directions, the anticipated hits for 2016, recommendations for corporate trip organisers and networking. PTO Expert Day Polish Tourist Organisation has prepared two interesting panels. A workshop entitled "New technologies in the promotion of local tourist attractions" has been prepared for RTOs and tourist information points and centres operating within the Contact Center project and the PTO infokiosks network. While the second PTO event will be devoted to a very popular subject of culinary tourism. Behind the slogan "Travel globally - eat locally" – there will be lectures during which the participants will learn how to prepare a culinary tourism offer for tourists from all over the world. Also, inspiring examples of Polish culinary tourism offers will be presented, which conquered the palates of tourists from around the world. The Assembly of Tourism Experts – time to start preparation During TOUR SALON, the representatives of the industry and research communities will discuss, among others, proposals for research and programme topics to be debated during next year's 8th Assembly of Tourism Experts. Workshops for future personnel Pupils and students of tourism oriented classes will attend a meeting and workshops on the forms of education for tour leaders. The responsibility of the organiser and the carrier in the development and implementation of the programme will be presented. During the opening ceremony, the winners of the Gold Medal of Poznań International Fair, Acanthus Aureus for the best stands and Traper awarded by the Polish Chamber of Tourism and PIF will be announced. A usual gala will be held and this is where the Polish Tourist Organisation Certificates and "New Seven Wonders of Poland" plebiscite of National Geographic Traveler magazine winners will be presented. Also, the winners of the contest for the best IT Centre organised by Polish Tourist Organisation, and Tour operator of the year – of The Polish Chamber of Tourism and TTG as well as, once again, the winners of the "Rose of Regions" competition for the best materials promoting municipalities, towns and regions organised by "Wiadomości Turystyczne" will be announced. Passion zone The slogan "Around the world in three days" perfectly captures the nature of the event because, as every year, we will find at the TOUR SALON 2015 tourism fair inspirational ideas of far and near trips, and we will meet famous travellers. Numerous attractions will be organised on the exhibitors' stands, including: contests with prizes, tastings and performances on the Culture Stage which encourage you to travel, explore new lands and discover our beautiful Poland. TOUR SALON is a foretaste of what one will see during their self-organised journeys or those with a travel agency. Who will one meet? This year's macro-region partner is Green Velo, that is, the cycling routes that soon will appear on the map of Eastern Poland. For this reason, numerous cycling attractions will be available on the GREEN VELO stand. Krystian Herba's show, who is a highly successful Polish bike trial rider, will be one of them. Three-time Guinness record holder in jumping the stairs in the highest buildings of the world and the finalist of the second edition of Got Talent will show in Poznań what one can do on a bike breaking the law of gravity. In his case, "cycling" takes on a whole new meaning, but to understand it, one must watch his live performances. Traditionally, travellers will find at the fair tourist offers with regional flavours from the whole Poland. In addition to interesting places in the country, TOUR SALON will let you get acquainted with the proposals of exhibitors representing 20 countries, including so popular with us Italy, as well as France, Georgia, Germany, Ukraine, the Russian Federation and Albania. Meetings with Travellers A great surprise will wait for children this year: Nela the Young Reporter is going to visit us. The girl went on her first backpacking trip when she was 5 years old. Within three years, she visited Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Malaysia, Ethiopia, Zanzibar, Tanzania and Kenya. Nela will meet the visitors on Saturday (17 October, 13.00-14.00) on the Culture Stage where she will present her "Tales from exotic journey". Then Nela will be available at the National Geographic Traveler stand (Hall 3, Stand 102). The fair will be also a treat for Martyna Wojciechowska fans. The most famous Polish traveller will visit Poznań again and we will meet her on Saturday, 17 October, 11.00 at the National Geographic Traveler stand (Hall 3, Stand 102). "Turkey - does St. Nicholas like tulips" and "Cuba - the museum of unfulfilled dreams" - two extraordinary countries and two colourful stories provided by renowned explorers, journalists and photographers - Anna and Krzysztof Kobus. If you want to move for a while to Turkey and Cuba, just come on Friday, 16 October, 16.00, the Culture Stage (Hall 3). Once again TOUR SALON invites you to the "Following Dreams" Travel Festival. The festival is a unique chance to see the pictures which, combined with colourful stories, will move all the festival participants to different corners of Poland and the world (16-18 October). There will also be an attractive after-party for all the participants. Free travel photography workshops Everybody travels, everybody takes photos, but doing it on the go is harder than doing it "at home". Free travel photography workshops will show what can happen to us or surprise us and what to do in order to enjoy beautiful and successful photographs. Marcin Dobas, an excellent photographer of National Geographic Poland, will conduct the meeting and give you a lot of practical hints, tips and thoughts about travel photography sharing his experience after the years of wanderings with a camera. TOUR SALON is like a treasure trove of memorabilia to take with us after the visit in Poznań. Exhibitions During TOUR SALON, we will watch photographs of all the previous winners of the National Geographic Traveler plebiscite - "New Seven Wonders of Poland". The exhibition was displayed in all the major cities and shopping malls in Poland and it will present such places as Kozłówka Palace, Live Gingerbread Museum, Kraków Little Valleys and last year's winner OFF Piotrkowska. On the other hand, thanks to the exhibition "European Routes of Castles and Palaces", we will learn about castles and palaces in the context of tourism products associated with the presented places. Bloggers are with us For the first time, travel bloggers from the whole Poland will meet at TOUR SALON Blog Meeting in Poznań.
