2013 COLLEGE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM MTA Bridges and Tunnels is one of the largest bridge and tunnel agencies in the world serving more than 800,000 vehicles each weekday — over 280 million vehicles each year — at its seven bridges and two tunnels while helping support the transit services of the MTA. MTA Bridges and Tunnels is pleased to announce its 2013 College Summer Internship Program. The internship will run from May 2013 through August 2013 with some flexibility at either end, and is available to full-time undergraduate or graduate students who complete two semesters during the 2012-2013 school year. In addition, students who graduated in Fall 2012 or will graduate in Winter or Spring 2013 are eligible for the 2013 College Summer Internship Program. Successful candidates will be placed based on their major area of study and interests as well as the needs of the various operating or staff areas within MTA Bridges and Tunnels. They include operations and maintenance; engineering and construction; planning, budget, and finance; technology (including toll technology); labor relations; law; security; and human resources and administration. Salary Range: $12.85 per hour for qualified undergraduates $15.85 per hour for qualified graduate students Work locations: 2 Broadway in Lower Manhattan, Randall’s Island Headquarters, or One of our seven bridges and two tunnels in New York City Qualifications: Successful candidates will be selected based on academic background, an essay or a legal writing sample, and an in-person interview. Candidates should have excellent analytical and verbal/written communication skills as well as a proficient command of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
