iCRAG PhD studentship RM1.1 PhD2 Characterization of trace-element halos along structures hosting Irish-type carbonate hosted Pb-Zn deposits A four year PhD research studentship opportunity (starting September 2015) in the field of exploration geochemistry and mineral deposit geology exists for highly motivated individuals at the Department of Geology, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. iCRAG, the new Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences, is funded under the SFI Research Centres Programme and is co-funded under the European Regional Development Fund. It is supporting >40 new early career research opportunities. This Ph.D. project will characterize alteration of carbonate strata along fault structures hosting Irish-type Pb-Zn mineralization. The candidate will work closely with industry sponsors and use state-of-the-art equipment at Trinity College Dublin (www.tcd.ie/Geology/research/facilities/geochemfacility/geochronology/). The candidate will be part of a larger research team belonging to the Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences. The ideal candidate is a Geology graduate with demonstrated expertise in economic geology and geochemistry. The project is open to EU students only (students who have been resident for 3 out of the last 5 years in the EU) and includes fees and a tax-free stipend of €18,000 per annum for 48 months.
