April 2014

Dear Students and Parents:

The junior class of Susquehanna Township High School is excited to inform you about this year’s prom to be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 6-

11pm. The theme for this year’ s event is The Roaring 20 ’s.

Our prom will be held at the Crowne Plaza on 2 nd St. in Harrisburg. Doors will open at

6 pm and the dinner buffet will be served between 7 pm and 8 pm. You must arrive and be seated by 7 pm in order to receive a meal. No one will be admitted after 8 pm.

Prom tickets will be sold before school and during lunch periods on April 9 th -11th, 14 th -16th, and 22 nd -23 rd . The last day for ticket sales will be April

23 rd , NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER THAT DATE because a final count needs to be given to the hotel by their deadline. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Tickets will cost $65 per person, or $130 per couple. Checks should be made payable to STHS Class of 2015. We will not be able to replace lost or stolen tickets.

Prom attendees should enter the hotel via the main entrance on 2 nd Street; parking is available in the parking garage across the street. Family and friends are welcome to take pictures outside the ballroom on the second floor. Due to limited space outside of the hotel, we will not be permitted to take pictures outside of the venue.

Students will be seated in the ballroom in tables of 8 people. Table assignment forms will be available when tickets are purchased and must be returned no later than April 25 th . If we do not receive a seating request list, tables will be randomly assigned.

Lifetouch Studios, our school’s professional photographer, will be there to offer a variety of photo packages. The photo envelopes will be given with the purchase of a prom ticket. Students can schedule their photo time when they purchase their tickets or when they get to the prom. Money will be due the evening of the prom.

Any student wishing to bring a guest (non – STHS student) must complete and return a guest pass form by Monday May 5 th along with a copy of a Photo

ID. Guests from outside our school must not be over 20 years of age and must not be currently suspended or expelled from any school.

All students/guests are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the Susquehanna Township School District.

We would also like to remind you that the dress code for the Prom is formal. Apparel for the dance must be appropriate. The administrators in charge may require an inappropriately dressed student to change or leave the dance. Please refer to the district dress code for guidance.

Students may also be ineligible to attend if disciplinary issues occur in or outside of school.

Please note that dancing will be monitored and, if deemed to be sexually explicit to an extreme degree, the student or students will be warned and upon the second notification asked to leave the dance.

It is our hope that this year’s prom will be filled with wonderful memories and experiences for everyone. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this year’s event. Thank you for your support and cooperation in making this an enjoyable, safe and drug/alcohol-free event.

Sincerely,

Mr. Kevin O’Donnell Mrs. Meagan Hamsher
