Welcome to Algebra II Advanced! I am looking forward to a great year.
Required Materials:
 3-Ring Binder or Folder
 Graph Paper Notebook
 Graphing – Required!
o Graphing: TI 83+, TI 84, or TI 84+
 Pencils and Erasers
 Dry Erase Markers at least 4
Grading: Tests & Quizzes. : 70%
Homework/Tasks/P.O.W.: 10%
Final Exam: 20%

Absences:
If you are absent, you will have one day for each day absent to turn in missed assignments.
It is your responsibility to seek out assignments and notes you miss. There is a Google folder
that contains all worksheets and notes. You are expected to keep up with current
assignments while making up absent work. If you are absent on the day of a test, I expect
you to take the test the day you get back. If you are absent the day before a test or quiz
you will still take the assessment on its scheduled day. Obviously there will be exceptions,
they will be dealt with on an individual basis, email me!
Homework:
Most daily homework assignments will not be checked, but I will randomly assign
specific homework that will be collected and graded.
Quiz/Test:
Mini-quizzes (5-10 pts) may be given on a random basis. Major Quizzes (20-50
pts) may be given in the middle of a unit. Tests (50-100 pts) are given at the end
of each unit. It is imperative that you take excellent notes and do your
homework thoroughly to ensure your success on these assessments.
Retakes: Occasionally (with extenuating circumstances) a retake of a test or
quiz can be requested. These requests will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Extra Credit:
The only extra credit comes from taking the monthly IML quizzes after school
starting in October.
Calculator Policy:
 Graphing calculators (TI 83 Plus, TI 84 or TI 84 Plus) are REQUIRED for this course.
 For any other types of calculators, make sure you check with me prior to buying.
 You cannot share calculators during tests or quizzes.
 You cannot use the calculator on your phone.
Extra Help:
 I am available for help most days before and after school (starting in October).
Please let me know when you will be coming in so I can make sure I am in my
room at that time. I am also in math resource 4th hour,( and 6th by appointment
only.)
 You can go to the math resource room during your access for additional help.
Math Resource will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week.
Please take advantage of the opportunities given to you.
 To go to resource you MUST get a pass from ME.
 Resource is NOT for doing homework, it is for getting help or asking a
question.
 The resource room will be busy so DO NOT expect one-on-one help for the
entire period. If you need one-on-one help, come see me before or after
school.
*Any issues or procedures not specifically discussed in this syllabus will be handled according
to the WWSHS student handbook.
Checking your grade: Grades will be updated after all tests and quizzes on Synergy. Do not
hesitate to talk to me about your grade if you have concerns.
