boys grades 1-5. Den meetings are Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30. There are flyers at the Ardenwald

Principal time
 Local option – this is on the ballot for March or September. There will be 15 minute
presentations on this at open house in the gym. There will also be a 45 minute presentation, yet
to be scheduled, to give information to the board about what to fund. More information to
come.

Volunteer opportunities – Sheila shared the following volunteer opportunities with the group
o Kindergarten lunch and dismissal, 11:10 – 11:25. Need help getting kids where they
need to be.
o Cocoa with the principal is a prize the kids can win for the positive action drawings.
She’d like to also offer lunch in the courtyard as another prize but would need adult
volunteers to supervise the kids. This would be on Tuesdays in the courtyard or in room
101.
o Cafeteria tables need cleaning after the kindergarten and 1st grade lunches.
o Walk/bike to school day on 10/5. Need volunteers for safety, sign in, the drawing, and
escorting the kids. Meet at Lisac’s or Roswell market at 7:15.

All Star Eaters – This is a new program that teaches safe, respectful, and responsible behavior at
lunch. 3, 4, 5 graders are participating. If you want to be involved, talk to Sheila.
New Business
PTO Bulletin Board – this is on the backside of the cafeteria. Looking for people interested in keeping it
up to date. Also looking for someone to update the PTO website.
Ardenwald Neighborhood meeting – we like to have a representative there from PTO. Macy
volunteered to be the representative since she serves on a committee in the neighborhood assn.
Bike Parade: Clarification of the start time, as there was a misprint on one of the flyers – begins at
10:00, not noon. Not sponsored by PTO, but people are welcome to volunteer.
Back to school night - Thursday 9/22, 6:00-7:30. (Book fair starts at 6:00, classrooms at 6:30). PTO table
will have sign up sheet for those who are interested in getting PTO updates, etc. There was question
about whether all volunteers needed to complete the volunteer application form; will find out for nect
meeting.
Budget review
Missy reviewed each expenditure item on the budget and answered questions. Scott Gumm offered to
provide the inflatables for field day for free through his business.
Teacher Luncheon- sched for 9/28. Sigrid and Sheila O will ask for help.
