Veteran’s Day– A coloring contest was held honoring our Veterans and the following is the list of class
winners: Kindergarten: Dallen Flatin, 1st Grade: Kelsey Rice, 2nd Grade: Jace Stucker, 3rd Grade: Jordan
Hartpence, 4th Grade: Brice Marsh, 5th Grade (Burkdoll): Cheyenne Day and 5th Grade (Carson): Kaitlin
McCollom. We collected change for the Wounded Warrior Program this year in honor of Veteran’s Day and
as a whole we collected a total of $450.00. The first place class was 3rd Grade and the 2nd place class was
Mrs. Carson’s 5th grade class. Your support is appreciated very much!
MdCV Recreation Basketball – The MdCV Recreation Commission will continue to have their Saturday
Morning Basketball clinic through December 15th from 9:00 – 10:00 am at the Melvern High School Gym,
with the exception of Saturday, November 24th (Saturday after Thanksgiving), there will be no
clinic on this day. Students in grades K-5th only are welcome to attend. Students must wear their gym
shoes to participate. The students will perform at the HS Basketball game on December 11 th at Melvern.
Quenemo PRIDE Christmas Store – Quenemo Pride will be offering the Christmas Store again this year
with your help! They are currently taking donations for the annual PRIDE Christmas store. If you have any
items you would like to donate, please call Madeline Carson at 785-759-3453 or Cathy Brannan at 785759-3513. Thank you for your help in making this a success!
Melvern Community Thanksgiving Dinner – Melvern PRIDE will be hosting a FREE Community
Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 17 th from 11:00 – 2:00pm at the Melvern Community
Center.
Free Community Dinner – Quenemo will be hosting a FREE Community Dinner on Saturday, November
17th from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at the Community Building.
Winter Music Program – MdCV Elementary School will be having their annual Winter Music Program on
Wednesday, December 5th at 7:00pm. Please come out and support the children and all their hard work.
Church Club in Quenemo – The schedule for Church Club will be slightly different over the holidays. This
is for Grades 3rd – 5th.
