After paying the expenses of hosting the contest as outlined in the Sports Committee Policy Manual, income will be sent to Dick Kemper, Executive Director within seven days of the event. The host school of a first round or quarterfinal game will absorb the deficit if the gate receipts do not cover the expenses. A school that does not charge admission will not be allowed to host a VISAA championship event in that sport the following school year. All spectators over the age of six will be charged admission. Players, coaches, cheerleaders, school administrators and families of coaches involved in the contest will be admitted free but other school personnel, etc. will not be allowed in on passes. All other school personnel, faculty, students etc. and spectators must pay admission. The admission fees will be: $5.00 – Admission to first round and quarterfinal events $10.00 – Admission to semifinal and championship events $20.00 – Family Rate for first round and quarterfinal events (2 adults plus children) $30.00 – Family Rate for semi-final and final events (2 adults plus children) Please note the highlighted portion of the Eligibility section of the Policies and Procedures document for the VISAA and ensure the eligibility of your student athletes with regard to mid-season transfers: The student must be a regular bona fide student in good standing of the school that he or she represents and must be enrolled and in attendance at the VISAA school that he or she represents at least 30 days prior to the date of the commencement of the VISAA championship in which he or she proposes to participate to be eligible for such VISAA championship. For purposes hereof, the term “regular bona fide student” shall mean a full-time student taking an average of four hours of classroom instruction per day or at least five academic classes per semester/grade reporting period and is working toward graduation requirements at the school he or she represents. For purposes hereof, the term “school” shall mean a private, preparatory, parochial or other nonpublic school that is accredited by an accrediting agency approved by the VCPE and that does not derive its financial support from state or local taxes.
