Supplies: calculator, pen/pencil, folder Notes: You will be expected to take notes for each lesson. It is important for you to have sample problems to refer to when working on assignments at home or in study hall. Homework Assignments: There will be an assignment for each section that is covered. These will be graded daily by the student and collected and reviewed by one of the teachers. Completed assignments will be worth up to 5 points and will be graded primarily on completion and work shown. It is strongly recommended that you keep up with assignments. Quizzes: There will be 1-3 quizzes per chapter. If you are absent on the day of the quiz, you will receive a “no grade” for the quiz and will not be required to make it up. This does not affect your grade at all. You will receive a copy of the quiz to reference later in preparation for the test. Quiz Corrections: It is very important that you correct all quizzes in order to prepare for the test. There will not be points awarded for these corrections. Tests: Each chapter will have an individual test worth up to 100 points. Test Retakes: There will be an opportunity to retake all tests in this class. You will need to do test corrections on separate paper. Mrs. Meyer or Mrs. Suhrhoff can assist you with this during a free period or before/after school. You may also bring your test to the Math/Lit Center to get help with these corrections. We may also recommend supplemental assignments to help you prepare for the retake. Grade Calculations: Grades in this class will be entered into Skyward into 2 categories. The Formative category will include scores on all homework, notes, quizzes, activities, etc. This category will be worth 25% of the grade. The Summative category will include scores on tests only. This category will be worth 75% of the grade. Absent Work: If you are absent for any reason, it is your responsibility to get notes from the Google Drive or from one of us when you return to class. The assignment(s) that you missed should be turned in within 2-3 days after you return. If you miss a quiz, it will be a “no grade”. If you miss a test, you have one week to make it up. No exceptions! Late Work: No late work will be accepted in this class without an excused absence. Cell Phones: Cell phones are not allowed in this classroom and cannot be used for calculators.
