opportunity to learn what other schools are doing to
involve families within the school community.
Of interest is the introduction of “Parent Portals” to most
school websites during 2015 – so we will look forward to
more information relating to this.
There is a leadership meeting – Monday, 23rd March 2015

DPC Website is really worth promoting to families for a
range of resources – www.brokenbayparentcouncil.com –
Information about parent seminars, online learning as
well as learning opportunities at home are just some of
the types of information that can be obtained. Natalie
Jones has suggested running a Parent night to inform

running of another very successful Spring Fair. We have

up-grades and improvements to our school community.
A special thank you was extended to Kate Hooke and
Sharon Francis who lead a very well organised Spring Fair
team.
Principals Report:
Barry wished to convey the School Improvement Plan and
what the educators and school as a whole are working
towards.
Emphasis on:
 Deepening religious education understanding and the
integration of engaging learning strategies.
 Improving student reading and comprehension skills.
 Improved mathematical outcomes – MAI provides
precise data so that educators can start the year to
guide teaching and learning.
 Developing, sustaining and providing strategies to
support positive relationships amongst students.
 Enhance digital communication between school and
parents.
Barry acknowledged key P&F achievements that are very
positive such as Disco, regular events, Sport-a-thon
(suggested that we host this on school grounds for next

accommodate those attending Grandparents day.
