Job Purpose:

To provide the wider academic community with expertise and advice on the pedagogical and
technological enhancement of learning design.

To be an agent for change within disciplines and across the institution to enable the
fulfilment of the educational strategy.

To actively engage with individuals and groups of academic staff in their educational
contexts

To promote technological solutions based on sound pedagogical principles and crossinstitutional leveraging of available and scalable technology.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities (6-10 bullet points maximum)
1. Liaise with faculties and academics to understand their immediate and
strategic needs for technology enhanced curriculum design.
2. Provide advice and, where appropriate, practical help with ensuring that
pedagogically appropriate and supportable technologies are used to
enhance the teaching and learning process.
3. Promote supported technologies to ensure successful uptake and
appropriate use across the institution.
4. Manage projects in collaboration with academic colleagues and professional
services. Taking responsibility for the organisation, scheduling, resourcing
and evaluation.

5. Plan, deliver and evaluate educational development sessions and courses on
learning technology and curriculum design.
6. Facilitate users groups and create networks of people with similar interests
across the institution.
7. Stay abreast of and disseminate new developments and good practice in
fields of the learning technology and curriculum design both locally and
nationally/internationally.
8. Any other duties that fall within the scope of the post as allocated by the
Director of CITE and Deputy Director of iSolutions
Internal and External Relationships: (nature and purpose of relationships)

Liaison with: faculties, professional services, academic individuals and groups, curriculum
planning committees, programme and module leaders, relevant iSolutions teams, library
staff, student services, any other relevant external and internal stakeholders
