Short Bio:
Alison Stopeck is a board certified Internist, Hematologist, and Medical Oncologist and Director of the Arizona
Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center-Tucson and the Clinical Breast Cancer Program at theThe University of
Arizona Cancer Center. She received her medical doctorate from Columbia University College of Physicians and
Surgeons. She then remained at Columbia, completing her residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian
Medical Center. Her Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology was completed at Cornell University Medical
College.
She currently holds the rank of Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona. She has more than 50
publications in medical journals and textbooks, including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of
Clinical Oncology. She acts as an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Medicine and is an ad hoc reviewer
for several journals. Memberships include the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of
Hematology, the American Association of Cancer Research, and the Southwest Oncology Group. She has been
named to the “Best Doctors in America”, “Best Doctors in Tucson”, and “Who’s Who in America, Professional
Edition” on multiple occasions and has a very active clinical practice in breast cancer as well as bleeding and
clotting disorders. Dr. Stopeck is the principle or collaborating investigator on multiple clinical trials involving
novel agents, prognostic markers and predictors of response in breast cancer patients, as well as supportive care and
survivorship issues in hemophilia and breast cancer.
