HESI A2 PRE-ADMISSIONS ASSESSMENT EXAM
Who should register for the HESI (A 2) Exam?
As part of the application process, all students applying to the MGCCC Radiologic Technology Program are required to
take the HESI A2 Exam (HESI) during the application semester. The score received on HESI is considered to be a
component of the selective admissions process (30%). Scores from previous years or other institutions will not be
accepted. (Refer to the Radiologic Technology Program admission ranking for a percentile breakdown of selection
components).
What is the HESI (A2) Exam?
The Evolve Reach Admissions Assessment (A2) pre-admission exam measures basic academic knowledge in reading
comprehension, mathematics, and sciences needed for the imaging health care field.
If I want to apply to the Radiologic Technology Program, what should I do to get started?
 Visit the Radiologic Technology webpage through the college website: www.mgccc.edu. Access the Admissions
Checklist and use it as an advisement guide for application to the Radiologic Technology (RT) Program.
 HESI is required on the Admissions Checklist.
 Call the Jackson County Campus proctoring center (228) 497-7706 to receive the current registration information
for the test.
 HESI is a purchase item from Elsevier Publishing Company.
How do I purchase HESI?
 Before you can purchase the exam, you will need to first register for an Evolve Account at Elsevier Publishing
Company. The link and payment code is available from the Jackson County Campus proctoring center (228) 4977706.
 After you successfully register for your exam, the MGCCC-JC Proctoring Center will be contacted by Elsevier,
who will then send you an email to schedule your test date. (This could take a couple of days. Thank you for
your patience)
What is the minimum score I need to make on HESI?
There is no minimum score for the exam.
Is there a way to prepare for HESI?
Yes, the Evolve Reach Testing and Remediation Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3rd Edition is available for purchase
at Elsevier: Evolve Reach Testing and Remediation Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3rd Edition: HESI (ISBN:
9781455703333). A minimum of one copy is in the library.
Can I re-take the exam?
HESI may be repeated only once each year. For a second attempt, follow the same procedure as the first attempt. You
must get a new payment code from the proctoring center.
If I cannot keep my testing appointment, will my money be refunded?
Missed exams are nonrefundable. You may reschedule the exam no later than 4 days prior to the original test date and
time. Contact the Proctoring Center for more information.
After I have finished my exam, how do I access my remediation (my score)?
Your score will be available at the completion of the exam.
