After School Enrichment and Tutoring Contract GALS 2015 After school enrichment and tutoring is an extension of the academic day. The purpose of this policy is to clearly define the expectations for participating in after school enrichment classes and tutoring, and for girls to hold themselves accountable throughout the semester. Accordingly, a series of 3 strikes over the spring semester will result in the student being removed from the enrichment activity or tutoring, and she will not be eligible to continue participating for the remainder of the semester. A strike will be assigned for: 1) A behavioral incident, including disrupting the class 2) Arriving to the classroom late twice in one week 3) Leaving the building at any time After School Enrichment Expectations Arriving to the classroom promptly at 3:35pm and remaining in the class until 5pm dismissal. Signing into the attendance log with first and last name and then signing out at 5pm. Actively participating in whatever activity the instructor asks for the entire hour. Respecting the instructor and not disrupting the rest of the class for the entire hour. Walking up to the Galapago Street side at 5pm to wait inside for parent/guardian to pick up. Please note: students not picked up before 5:30pm will be asked to walk to the Boys and Girls Club (800 Inca) or the Byers Branch Library (675 Santa Fe). If a student is being picked up early from an after school activity, the parent/guardian must come in and sign the student out before they are allowed to leave the building. Tutoring Expectations Signing up for tutoring at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled day, unless otherwise arranged with the teacher. Heading to the designated holding classroom as soon as the bell rings at 3:35pm. Waiting quietly for the teacher to come to the classroom to pick up students who have signed up for their tutoring. Any student who has not officially signed up will be asked to head to the office to call a parent/guardian to come pick them up OR walk to the Boys and Girls club/Library unless otherwise arranged with the teacher. Sign into the designated tutoring Attendance Log at 3:45pm. Be in the classroom for the entire hour unless other arrangements have been made and Ms. Ana is aware of them. Any student that leaves the building from 3:35-5pm will not be allowed to participate in tutoring and will wait in the office until their ride picks them up. Any student being picked up before the 5pm dismissal will need a parent/guardian to come into the office to sign them out. Ms. Ana will call down to the classroom and then allow the student to walk down. Walk up to the Galapago Street side at 5pm to sign out from tutoring with Ms. Ana and wait inside for their parent/guardian OR walk to the Boys and Girls club after signing out of the attendance log and waving to Ms. Ana.
