Resolution 13-08: A Resolution to Require Associate Positions 1 WHEREAS, There is a great need for more direct focus within the organization; and 2 WHEREAS, There are director positions which may be done in fewer hours more 3 4 5 effectively through associate positions; and WHEREAS, These positions must exist and be filled to properly advocate on behalf of student populations; now, therefore, be it 6 7 RESOLVED, By the Student Government of Wright State University here 8 assembled, that: 9 (1) The associate positions of veteran affairs, international student affairs, 10 web communications, and study abroad be required as cabinet 11 members; and 12 13 14 15 16 (2) The afore-mentioned associates be sought by the president and vicepresident during their cabinet search; and (3) The vacancy of any of these positions be treated as a vacant position in the cabinet; and (4) The afore-mentioned associate positions be added to Section 3.01 of 17 the Constitution to read, “President, Vice President, Chief of Staff, 18 Director of Internal Affairs, Director of Academic Affairs, Director of 19 Public Relations, Director of Student Affairs, Director of Web 20 Communications, Director of International Student Affairs, and the 21 Director of Diversity Affairs, Director of Disability Affairs, Associate 22 of Veteran Affairs, Associate of International Student Affairs, 23 Associate of Web Communications, and Associate of Study Abroad 24 (The Chief Justice and the Speaker of the House shall be ex-officio 25 members of the Executive Cabinet).” And 26 (5) A suggestion be made to next year’s administration to look into having 27 multiple levels of associates so that these required associates may be 28 compensated in some way. 29 Introduced by Joseph Gibbons, Lola Adebayo, JB Saul, Matt Harmon, Sukhman Singh
