About the Office of Diversity Affairs The Office of Diversity Affairs serves to represent all issues regarding diversity and multiculturism at UCSD. The office not only interacts with the various ethnic groups under Associated Students. but serves to address and represent the various ethnic, racial, religious, sexual, lingual and socioeconomic demographics on campus. In addition to acting as a liaison in Associated Students to the various groups and organizations on campus, the Associate Vice President of Diversity Affairs interacts regularly with various administrations on issues in regards to the diversity on campus, including the Chief Diversity Officer, the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, and the Chancellor. AVP Diversity Affairs Responsibilities The Associate Vice President of Diversity Affairs shall: Promote and act as a liaison to the Three Campus Resource Centers on Campus: the LGBT Resource Center, The Women's Center, and The Cross Cultural Center. Oversee the progress and events of the two commissions under the Diversity Office: Alliance and Women's Commission. Serve as the main contact and liaison for the Preuss School of UCSD, and Gompers Middle School Plan a workshop/event every quarter regarding an issue of diversity Serve on the Student Promoted Access Center of Education and Service (SPACES) Board of Directors, with a voting position on the board. Plan and coordinate the UCSD delegation to the National Conference of Race and Ethnicity.
