IMAGINE FOUNDATIONS AT MORNINGSIDE “Home of the Soaring Eagles” Peter A. Thompson, Principal Douglas Gaither, Academic Facilitator Oct. 1, 2015 Hello Imagine Friends, This is a reminder about our Green School Initiative. This year, we are attempting to create a school and community garden as well as to teach our scholars to become environmental citizens. We are participating in Clean Up-Green Up, in collaboration with Keep Prince George’s County Beautiful campaign by demonstrating our school’s shared commitment to keeping our community appealing and attractive. On October 17, 2015 we will be planting and cleaning our school grounds only. We will start at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 3:00 p.m. This project will enhance our campus; provide an outdoor learning area in addition to helping our scholars earn service-learning hours. Please come out and support our scholars, educators, and community members as we help develop 21st century learners and environmentally conscious citizens. The plants and trees are provided by Prince George’s County department of Parks and Planning as well as some cleaning supplies; however, if you have shovels and other gardening tools please bring them with a smile and your enthusiasm. It is not required to be a member of the green team to participate on October 17, 2015. However, if you want to be a member or to volunteer, please indicate on the slip attached to this letter. Thank you for your continued support, Mrs. Bland, M.Ed STEM ILT Imagine Foundations at Morningside I interested in being a member of the Green Team at Imagine Morningside.
