Dear ARIS Parents:
We are excited to present to you our Auten Road Intermediate School Extracurricular Activities and
Clubs for the 2014-2015 School Year. The activities and clubs include a wide variety of interest
levels. Activities will take part either before or after school, during different times of the school
year. Please note transportation IS NOT PROVIDED for any of the clubs. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) are
responsible for transportation to (morning club) or pickup from (afternoon club) any of these
extracurricular activities.
Registration for the clubs will take place online this year. The attached document contains the club
names, descriptions, meeting times, and staff advisors. Students can peruse this document over the
weekend in order to make an informed decision during the sign up days. On Tuesday, September 16th,
we will send all students an online signup Google Form. This form will be open for signups until Friday,
September 19th, and then it will close. Each club advisor will gather the names of the students who are
chosen for his/her club and then continue the registration process from there, which includes:
 After the registration deadline, a confirmation notice will be sent home indicating acceptance
into the appropriate club or activity. In addition, a permission slip and health form will be
attached for parents to complete and return.
 If the club requires a supply fee, you will be notified regarding payment. Please DO NOT send
in any club fees until you receive confirmation.
Due to the large student population at ARIS, students will only be allowed to sign up for ONE club. Choir
and the Ski and Snowboard Club are the only two exceptions (students can join one or both of these in
addition to one of the other available clubs).
While we always do our best to accommodate as many students as possible, we cannot guarantee that
every child will get into a club. As a result, for clubs where there are more interested students than
available openings, the advisor will use a lottery system. In addition, if there are any clubs with openings
for more students after the deadline, Friday, September 19th, we will inform parents and students of a
second round of signups.
