Harry S. Truman Scholarship
Fulbright – Hilary Rodham Clinton Fellowships in Public Policy
The Harry S. Truman Foundation awards the Truman
Scholarship, a merit based grant of up to $30,000, to
eligible juniors who wish to pursue graduate studies in
preparation for a career in government, the non- profit
sector, or the public sector. Recipients of the Truman
Scholarship must also complete a service requirement for
three of the seven years following the completion of a
graduate degree program.
Fellows serve in professional public-policy-related placements in foreign
government ministries or institutions and to gain hands-on public sector
experience in participating foreign countries, while simultaneously carrying
out an academic study/research project. Awards also available to pursue
projects of candidates own design in any field to any participating country.

graduates to local government and public service. It is a nine month
fellowship that provides recipients an opportunity to work in government or
city agencies.
AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate Program
Program offers individuals the opportunity to become
engaged in a community through an existing VISTA
project for 8 to 10 weeks during the summer. Associates
choose from projects throughout the country, based on
their skills and interests, and serve with communitybased organizations, working to overcome poverty.

Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs
Provides a full-time, nine month, graduate-level experiential leadership
training program that prepares diverse, talented and committed individuals
for effective and ethical leadership in the public affairs arena. The Fellows
Program is offered in Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and
St. Louis.
Latino Leadership Initiative of the Harvard
Kennedy School of Government

at the Harvard Kennedy School for students committed
to serving the Latino community. The LLI features
classroom sessions on a range of leadership

Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA)
Fellowship, Junior Summer Institute
The PPIA Junior Summer Institute is a seven-week
program structured to introduce or strengthen skills in
economics, statistics, policy analysis, writing, public
speaking and organization/time management. Fellows
go on to complete master’s degrees in Public Affairs,
Public Administration or International Affairs.

Provides up to $40,000 per academic year for students who expect to enroll
in a two-year, full-time master's degree program in either public policy,
international affairs, public administration, or in an academic field such as

Stephen A. Schwarzman Scholars
Beginning in 2016, Schwarzman Scholars will be chosen annually to work
towards a one-year Master’s Degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
Degrees in Public Policy, Economics & Business and International Relations

Enrichment Program
A six-week summer program designed to provide
undergraduates with a deeper appreciation of current
issues and trends in intl. affairs, a greater understanding

Morris K. Udall Undergraduate Scholarship
Supports scholarship and excellence in national
environmental policy. Scholarships granted to
sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue careers
related to the natural environment; or to Native
Americans and Alaska Natives.
Empire State Fellowships
Fellows are appointed to positions in the NY State Executive Branch that
match their skills and experience, and work closely with senior
administration to create policy solutions to complex challenges. Fellows will
engage in educational and professional development programming that
prepares them to serve as effective and ethical leaders.

Excelsior Service Fellowship Program
Fellows serve for 2 years in a variety of capacities within such agencies like
the Dept. of Environmental Conservation, the Dept. of Labor, Housing and
Community Renewal, the Dept. of Financial Services, and the Empire State
Development Corp. Alternatively, Fellows may be assigned to roles in the
Governor’s or Lieutenant Governor’s Office.

Fellowship Program
Cultural Vistas Fellowships
Fellows work for 4 months in 3 different offices of their choosing at HPD,
learning about efforts to revitalize NYC’s neighborhoods through
construction, renovation, code enforcement, litigation, and outreach and
loans to private owners. In the second year, fellows typically have two sixmonth or one 12-month placement.
The fellowship affords students the unique opportunity to
advance their career goals, develop global competencies,
and experience life in another culture. Cultural Vistas
selects up to 12 fellows to take part in this multinational
professional development program in the field of
sustainability, which includes eight-week summer
internships in Argentina, Germany, and Singapore.

U.S. Dept. of State Student Internship Program
Internship to work in U.S. Embassies, as well as in various
bureaus located in Washington, D.C. and at Dept. offices
around the U.S. This program is designed to provide

Colin Powell Fellowship
Summer internship program for two Baruch students with
a strong interest in serving the United States by working
for the U.S. Dept. of State. The internships are located

specializing in emergency management, social work, public health, public

Presidential Management Fellowships
A leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree
candidates. The program attracts and selects the best candidates possible,
but is designed to develop a cadre of potential government leaders. The
