MVHS Boys Soccer Booster Club Meeting

Booster Club President Scott Smith called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Treasurer Report: Ending balance as of 5/31/14 of $11,886
Apparel/Spirit Wear (George Von Brugger)
 George Von Brugger gave an update on spirit wear/apparel.
 Store will be open July 7th and then again in August at the start of the regular Fall season.
 George is working with Identity Stores to make changes based on feedback.
Website (Andrea Yoch)
 Andrea Yoch reported she has website functional for MVHS site for athletics/activities
(www.gomvmustangs.com).
 Will be working with Coach Scanlon to get info on all teams on the new site.
 Facebook page created by Captains will be linked from website
 Link to Suburban East game schedules will be on website
 It was suggested to look at the MVHS Girl Soccer website for ideas
Chemical Awareness/Parent/Team Meeting (Carol Mata, Carrie Kottke, George Von Brugger)
 Monday, August 18th at MVHS. Exact time/location TBD.
 Carol Mata has checked with athletic office and been told that all forms will be available
online (to be completed as part of registration for a Fall sport). This should simplify the
process on 8/18/14.

 Ann Nash confirmed. Bid was $120/team (“Package A”).
 Bid involves 2 action photos of each player; would be available for use by team (website,
banquet, video, etc.); photos also available for purchase by families from Ann Nash website.
 Plan is for Ann to prepare the photo video for use at season banquet.
Cub Food bagging (fundraiser) (Phil Dingman)
 July 2, 2014 12:00 – 8:00 at Arden Hills Cub Foods.
 2nd bagging may be added later in the calendar year.
 Volunteers will earn funds to apply toward annual Booster Club fees.
 Encourage boys/parents to sign up for available shifts now:

Varsity Brochure/Senior Photos (Beth Carlson-Stevermer, Scott Smith)
 Beth Carlson-Stevermer will work on putting together varsity brochure and coordinate with
David Banks Photography for senior head shot (preferably taken on Aug. 18 at 1 st team
meeting).
 Scott Smith will contact past sponsors of varsity brochure to see if interested in making cash
donation to sponsor brochure (names then printed on brochure).
Senior Night (Open)
 Still looking at last home game of the season likely best option. Tuesday, September 30 vs.
Cretin @ 5:00 p.m.



Looking for interested junior parents to help plan event. Info available from last year’s
coordinators.
Same format – player questionnaire, poster board of each player, rose for parent, etc.
Possible gathering for senior players and families at MVHS after game if there’s interest.
MN United Fundraising Opportunity (Ann Trapnell)
 Scott Smith reported that Ann Trapnell had worked with MN United on fundraising
opportunity to purchase tickets for the 9/13 MN United home game. (Team receives $5 from
each ticket sold.)
End of Season Banquet (Kim Hintz, Jen Mohlenhoff, Jane Kennedy)
 Possible sites include Northwestern University, Shoreview Community Center
 Phil suggested Midland Golf Course
 Additional information will be collected and a decision made at the next meeting
Ball Chasers (Open)
 Volunteer to coordinate ball chasers at home games remains open.
 NSSA teams or siblings as volunteers.
 6 or 7 home games to staff.
 T-shirts still available for chasers to wear & turn in.
Upon motion made by Scott Smith, seconded by Maggie Pew, the meeting with adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
