CAST: IMPORTANT COSTUMING INFORMATION
UNDERGARMENTS REQUIRED: Must PURCHASE by Friday, January 8th
Most Females are required to have a beige/nude leotard as an undergarment for costume changes for performances
(see detailed list attached). This is to ensure modesty in dressing room as well as hide undergarments on stage.
They should have the beige adjustable straps. Bras must never show on stage, so make sure those straps are safety
pinned out-of-sight. Please wear a strapless or beige bra –no colors!!
Beige leotards can be purchased locally at Soleus Dancewear, online at www.discountdance.com or even on
amazon.com or ebay, typically for less than $20. It is also possible to obtain a hand me down from a dance friend.
Most Males can wear a tight fitting white men’s tank undershirt and snug-fitting, short, light –colored jersey-style shorts
(or boxers) under most costumes. Please refer to attached list for your specific requirements.
If your student is unsure of requirements, please email Laura @ bella@lildaisies.com

Costume Chair. If you have difficulty obtaining any items or it is a financial burden, please contact -- Laura:

ALL SHOES LOOK ALIKE – PLEASE PUT YOUR FIRST NAME INSIDE YOUR SHOES WITH MASKING TAPE
You should start wearing your performance shoes beginning Saturday, January 9th and then at ALL afterschool
rehearsals at RSA and ALL David Marr Theatre rehearsals from that date until show time.
This will help you break in shoes, get used to wearing them on the stage floor, and identify any issues ahead of time.
You may wish to wear lightweight socks with your shoes to avoid blisters. Your performance shoes SHOULD NEVER be
worn as “street shoes”. They should always be stored in your Backstage Box after rehearsal/performance (SEE NEXT
PAGE ABOUT REQUIRED BOX) and put on every day immediately when you arrive at the Theater. You should return
them to the box at end of every rehearsal/show – do not take or wear them home.
All undergarments, socks/tights performance-wear will be worn on Saturday, January 16th. You should ARRIVE
wearing undergarments, socks/tights under your clothes. (DO NOT ever plan to have time to go to the bathroom to
change when you arrive at the theater unless you plan on coming 15 minutes earlier than scheduled rehearsal or call
time). Please plan on wearing these items to all subsequent rehearsals through performances. You must arrive
READY to change into costume!
QUESTIONS? Please email Laura or Crista, Costume Chairs, at bella@lildaisies.com, blackmore_cr@yahoo.com

Important – When you arrive at dress rehearsals:
 Try to come wearing clothes that are easy to slip-on and off. Belts and layered clothes take more time. Leave
scarves, hats, jewelry at home (absolutely NO personal jewelry or watches can be worn on stage during
rehearsals or performances). No exceptions. These items tend to get lost anyway. NO COLORED NAIL POLISH

 Please try to carry in as little as possible to rehearsals. If you can leave your backpack at home or in the car,
please do. Try just bringing the homework you need that day. BACKPACKS, LARGE COATS & LUNCH PAILS ARE
STORED OUTSIDE IN THE SCHOOL HALLWAY SO PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ANY VALUABLES.
