1. 2012 CYC Action Plan Next Steps
1.1 ABC Conference CYC report back

Co-Chairs seeked direction on style and priority of reporting back to
the ABC participants on achievements over the last year.

Concern expressed as to the focus of the ABC on consultation as is it
a workshop

Question posed to reps: Why are we doing annual Consultations

Several prospective shared

There was agreement that there was focus on youth consultation from
pre-conference youth consultation event (April 27) to community
consultation re. design of workshops and engagement and finally the
presentation of the CYC report card.

Concern as to the branding of the annual consultation re. ABC
conference ?

Action: planning for 2013 consultation will begin in August, with CYC
taking more leadership.
2. Aboriginal partnership/ building bridges.

Dan circulated April 2008 Building Bridges networks day which included
next steps.

Discussion was rescheduled to next meeting so to include some senior
Xyolhelelyh and Sto lo management staff to join the CYC .

Action: Dan to invite Annie Silver, Sonja Mussell, Elly Janak, Sherry Epp,
Janet Doyle and Julie McCaffrey to the April 3 meeting.
3.CYC Website

Website launch will be May 17th at the ABC Conference

Annette Williams, website administers reported back indication good
progress loading agency programs and services. Loading of data is now
approximately 70%. Well done CYC reps!!!

Annette and Cindy continue to work with community agencies and
steering committee to build the site and problem solve matters
4. Early Years Senior Manager Group

Dan reviewed the terms of reference for this new committee

Replaces the EY finance subcommittee

The purpose of the committee consist of senior managers from SD#33,
MCFD, United Way, FH, FVCDC, YMCA, and CYC coordinator.

The committee meets quarterly and provides support, guidance and
leadership to the Chilliwack Early Year Committee
5. McCreary Adolescent Survey Update

SD#33 board meeting presentation scheduled for Tuesday March 14 at
7pm

Dan B and Tim B will be making the presentation during the public
meeting. CYC reps are invited to attend as a sign of support to the
initiative

Tim and AD Hoc group developed a power point with the support of
McCreary, which will be used in the presentation
6. Sexual Exploitation Awareness Week March 5-12

CYC recognizes the local community efforts of the Community Action
Team in developing Several Events.


Membership will develop a presentation series, so to present to 5 key
stakeholder group in Chilliwack

SD#33 Board of Education
Fraser Health Authority board of directors
Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce
Chilliwack RCMP management group



