Students must earn a “C” or better and have an Accuplacer score of 44-66 to advance to the next course, Elementary Algebra, ACAC 0326. (Check with academic advisor on the Accuplacer placement tests) Required resources and materials needed for this course online MYMATHLAB ACCESS KIT OPTIONAL MATERIALS Video lectures on CD, video lectures on DVD ( not required) ASSESSMENT OF STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT: There are three components to the final grade in this course: 1. HOMEWORK EXERCISES. The homework exercises can be found on MYMATHLAB . The sections, problems are listed under the assignments tab . When you log in to CourseCompass/MyMathLab you will be able to click on Homework and view your homework exercises. (see attachment) 2. WEEKLY QUIZES. By the end of each week of the course, you will be required to complete an online quiz covering the sections from that week. The deadline for completing this quiz will be midnight on Sunday each week. You can take the quiz THREE TIMES and the highest score will be counted. Each time you take the test, the questions will be randomly generated, but of the same type. 3. EXAMS; During the course, there will be two major exams: and the weekly quizzes. All will added and averaged for the final grade in the course. A: 90 – 100 B: 80-89 C: 70-79 D: 60 – 69 To pass a course in the Academic Achievement, Program, a final grade has to be at least ”C” COURSE COMPETENCIES: Upon completion of this course, students actively engaged in learning will: 1.
