Anne Frank Rough Draft By Shelley Seong Did you know that Anne Frank didn’t like her mother? That her father might have removed pages from her diary? Personally, I didn’t. Then I learned more about her amazing story. To me, she was just an ordinary girl at the wrong place at the wrong time. She was still real and easy to relate to, even though she wrote a diary that later became an international bestseller. Even though she went through many hardships at a young age. And even in the Annex, when she was still optimistic and energetic. That’s why she’s a great person. Anne Frank wrote an international bestseller. What kind of book was this, you ask? Surprisingly, it was her diary. A diary filled to the brim with her thoughts, opinions, and surroundings. Moreover, about why Jews were discriminated against, about politics and the war, and about her desire for the war to be over. It was published in (year) by Otto Frank, Anne's father and favorite family member. Relating to Anne's diary was really easy, considering that we feel emotions like her’s sometimes. Especially feelings of love, optimism, and even depression. It was even harder for Anne, considering her circumstances in the Annex, to keep emotions of happiness alive. But she managed, and her diary, named Kitty, is lovely to read. Secondly, Anne went through many hardships at a young age. For example, Hitler made Jewish children, like Anne, go to a special school just for Jews. Another hardship was when Anne's family had to move from place to place, just to avoid Hitler's reign and his discrimination against Jewish people. After going through many problems and fighting to overcome them, Anne should be recognized as a great person. Also, don't you get discriminated a little sometimes? Whenever a person sticks their nose up at you just because you're of a specific ethnic group or because of your hair color, you're feeling what Anne and other Jews were feeling at that time. Furthermore, Jewish people discriminated against at the time had to actually go into hiding and abandon friends and some family. That is why Anne's family had to move into the Annex in 1942. Finally, Anne was the morning coffee. She was bright, enthusiastic, optimistic, and woke you right up. She loved writing in her journal and had very strong opinions. For example, appreciating beauty and improving the world were some of her ideals. In addition, she was mischievous and humorous; one of her hobbies was to play pranks on people. All while in the Annex. The Annex was a stark contrast to Anne's attitude about life. It was crowded, quiet, and dreary. Increased communication with the same people over and over led to fighting. Yet Anne stomped down depression and kept her spirits high. Likewise to now, when people keep their spirits up in a bad economy. Along with feeling happy in the Annex, Anne also observed things that no one else would bother to observe in such a place. For instance, Anne wrote about the beautiful chestnut tree and the change of seasons in her diary. With Anne in their lives, the experience in the Annex was anything but boring. In conclusion, Anne was a great person. She wrote an international bestseller, overcame many problems, and had a good attitude in a dim situation. Additionally, she inspired many people with her diary and was still a regular kid. In my eyes, Anne Frank was a truly beautiful person, on the inside and out.
