ALIVE 2015
(Please carefully Read all details including fundraising info.)
(June 17th-21st)
Please Carefully Read Page #1
In order for the youth to go to alive this summer there must be a couple of things in place
before final preparations for the trip are made.
There must be a payment for the festival wrist band by May 24th . Without this payment
the youth will be expected to bring with $145.00 for their ticket price and they will have to pay at
the door when we arrive at the festival. Without the payment we will be scrambling to find out
who’s going and who isn’t. Please, please, please have the money in by May 24th. May 24th is a
Sunday. If you do not make the payment date on May 24th, you will have to give Dave Taylor
$145.00 in cash before we leave for the festival on June 17th.
If getting the money by this date (May 24th) is not possible for some, we will work with
those individuals to insure their spot on the trip. Also, if you’re having financial trouble, please
contact David Taylor (269-425-6711) so we can talk about the possible options to make your trip
to Alive with us a reality.
Please keep in mind; your youth will not have to pay the full $130.00 if they attend the
fundraisers. On May 23rd or May 30th there will be a car wash both days at Kroger plaza next to
the Key Bank. We will be operating from 10 am until 3 pm. The other fundraiser will be called
Hunk of Junk. If you have junk lying around your house that you want to get rid of, but just
haven’t taken the time to do, let us know and we’ll come and get it for you on May 30th between
12 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Please no appliances or anything bigger).
We will be doing yard raking so make sure your youth know to check the chalk board for
opportunities to yard rake this spring. We will also be accepting any pop cans to turn in for a
deposit if you have any that you’d like to donate. If you are interested in helping us out with
either yards or pop cans, please give me (David Taylor) a call at home or church and leave a
message (Church: 269-651-2865). Or you could tell a friend and help us earn money by word of
mouth!
We are all aware of the increase in gas prices so in order to compensate for this expense
we will be having a second fundraiser before the May 24th cut off date. All Alive attendees
WILL BE REQUIRED to participate in raising money at the Car Wash/Hunk of Junk on May 30th
towards the gas expenditures. If you’re going to Alive and you don’t show to this 2nd fundraiser
then you may lose your spot on the trip or be required to pay an extra $25 which will go towards
our gas money for the trip. The $25 is to be turned in on May 31st if you don’t show up to the car
wash on May 30th.
For food we will once again be asking the congregation for donations. The main things
we will need will be 3 meals for dinner. Usually we call certain people from church and they are
more than willing to help out with donating food items.
If you would like to help us financially, please contact Dave Taylor or Jane Warner at First
Baptist Church (269-651-2865)

As you know the Alive trip is fast approaching and we have some last minute things to go
over before everything can be set in motion. One of the most important things is understanding
the responsibility of allowing your son or daughter to go. What I mean by this is that if your
child misbehaves in such a way that is unacceptable, you the parent, will be responsible for
coming down to Ohio and picking them up. Out of all the years I have been to Alive I have only
seen this happen once, however if the situation arises I want you to be prepared.
Second on the list are the drivers for the trip., , Myself or any of the approved volunteers
from our list may be driving a vehicle to or from Alive. Along with this letter you must also fill
out the permission form which can be found on our webpage, www.fbcsturgis.com.
Please make sure Festival attendees have the correct permission release form for the trip.
Improper release forms will result in a loss of Festival attendance privileges with NO REFUND!
Also please note: If proper release forms are not given to David Taylor, not only will your son or
daughter be unable to attend the festival but they will be required to pay the full price of their
ticket even though they didn’t attend. The only permission form being accepted will be the
yearly 2015 Emergency Medical Release Form. The release form must also be signed by the
official parent or guardian. No written notes of permission will be accepted on Wednesday
the 17th of June before we leave!!!
We will be leaving for the Alive Music Festival on June 17th 2015 at 7a.m. and Arriving
back on June 21st 2015 around 3p.m. Please be in contact with your son or daughter on June 21st
so they may be promptly picked up upon our arrival back at First Baptist.
And last but certainly not least is a phone number that you can call to get a hold of me
(Dave) 269-425-6711. This number is to be used strictly for emergencies only while at Alive.
The reason we don’t give a number for the park is because the festival is so big that the people
relaying the message to us would not be able to find us very easily. So with these things said we
need the parents to sign the permission slips, and have the kids go over the checklist to make sure
they have everything.
If you have any questions please give me a call on my Cell or at the church.
