Warrimoo Public School P&C Meeting 13/10/15

General Business: doing 1st as have few teachers that have come
Mr Kitchin: Thank you to Mrs DeBono for doing the research & pushing for Skoolbag app. Launched
this week in the newsletter.
Skoolbag App : Mrs DeBono: please download & use & the skoolbag app and spread the word.
Newsletter for information about the app. Will increase communication from school to parents. Will
get information about excursions and notifications about payment. Different categories. Starting
small making sure will get correct then branch out to further communications.
Lara – can we get a link to P&C facebook as well. In future may have P&C category. Julie can we get
uniform shop prices on app – Mrs DeBono will looking into.
Before school care. Mrs Cuzner: Currently afterschool care only, WSPS has not had before school
care since last few years. Alison O has near completed her registration for to an approved provider.
This will complement the current afternoon school care, though they will be different operators. This
means that payment etc will be separate. Before school care will be at school using same facilities
and will commence the start of 2016.
Buddy chair: Mrs Cuzner has gone to staff & SRC about Buddy chair (Julie proposed previously)
STAR – sit talk and relax area – a quiet area to read to go with budys. Have a few ideas about this
Mens shed fell through with implementing what we need. Julie – Another school - Mens shed
Uniting church mens shed, got materials from Bunnings & build what was necessary. Maybe look at
links to mens shed- Lara will look into. Canna farm at Orchard hills make recycled furniture & may be
good contact – Julie Q to follow up.
Prospectus: exciting dynamic things doing at Warrimoo – Mrs Cuzner will get together & bring to
next P&C meeting.
Mrs Hart is going to Retire at end to the year. She will be present on 3rd Dec to Gold award for the
afternoon tea & a retirement party with staff afterwards. Opportunity for P&C to get present &
flower & present at this Assembly. Motion to buy a gift & flowers for Mrs Hart- motioned by Phil,
seconded by Troy. Ask Kirsty if she would like to do this. $100-$150 for this motioned Robyn T,
seconded Phil J .
Mural Project – School Art project is all coming together – Mrs Cuzner thank you to Barbara & Bob
for the hard work, kids are excited about. Need an opening day unveiling – Lara Proposed on Spring
Fair day; Bob proposes Mayor to open.
Lara G. Sound Lounge on 17th November Dianna is organising – Need to buy tickets soon and get
tables with friends together, great opportunity to see live music locally. Need to have numbers so
can go ahead. Blue shop & turning page are selling tickets
Julie: Kindy orientation night 27th October. Lisa, Julie and Phil will organise between themselves who
will talk about P&C & who will talk about uniform shop.
Bob T. Opening of Possum Park on sat 21st November 12 & 1pm. Mayor M. Greenhill to open. Dianna
very integral & worked hard with other residents for that ½ of the block to become a park. It will be
a celebration of the park, naming & those who worked. Would like to have lots of school children
past & present
Bob. T: 19th December 4-7pm– Santa Day at the Warrimoo Oval by the Warrimoo Citizens
association & Warrimoo RFS who are bringing their families more to enjoy the day . Open to all
Warrimoo residents, a fun entertaining day. Asking Troy to have North v’s South cricket comp…… to
discuss later.
Phil. J: Bus to Valley Heights has been discounted again by the bus company.

Phil: will not be running for President next year so will need to look for a new president.

Thanks to Kirsty for seeing problem with the excel spreadsheet – have more funds than we thought.

Lynn M Direct payments working for Uniform shop. 24 hours from doing direct deposit till get into
the account. Parents ok to do direct deposit & show they have payed (show on Iphone) then get
uniform at the time. Motioned Lynn seconded Robyn.
Lynn M. Spring Fair – Kirsty & Lynn will be accounts persons for the day – doing floats & swops for
smaller cash. Discussion about this. They have looked at floats will in $3400 will be taken out for
floats – will give phone number to volunteers if they need to get float etc. on the day.
Invoice for moneys spent – complex when getting gumtree. Not going to happen often, an email &
paper trail. Kirsty – told by Auditor to never give cash. Now with direct transfer will speed up
transfer into accounts. Can take a photo & send to treasurer. Need an invoice where money is going
to.
Mr Kitchin Principal’s report – see report. School numbers 163. 175 for 2016 so far, 26 kindies.
Nov 10th next P&C.
C. Hart retirement: how will effect staffing discussion.
Communications: Lance H. Going well. Skoolbag app will advertise on facebook & links.
Facebook – people getting notifications.
Lara G: group messages discussion. Now skoolbag app will take over for most of communications.
Will liase with Jo to get any P&C
Fundraising: Lara: last P&C before fair.
Trish Doyle & Mark Greenhill coming asked others but still waiting to hear back. Councilers & MP’s
invited
Welcome to country – need indigenous elder – Lara to decide.
Need volunteers for school stalls – fill gaps will advertise.
Troy P: cricket added entertainment in bottom court – for fun. Development squad. 2hours 1pm3pm Lara happy for Troy to organise & manage does not need to be fundraiser will be cricket aust
sponsored. Program printed by end of week so need to include.
Lister & Cole will give $ donation – can they sponsor hot dogs?
Risk assessment – needs to be done 2 weeks prior- Lara working on.
Council: No child access to Hot areas – Physical barrier to BBQ Di S.& Bob T. to organise.
Flyer drop
Halloween Sat 31st – so need to put up flyers on poles in streets & on highway. Warrimoo bridge &
Valley Heights Bridge 2 weeks before. Blaxland Bridge also but it is not booked. Discussion regarding
banners where & when . Gazette special going ahead.
ATM – no go as don’t make enough money.
2 school Gazeboos – Phil has one Kate will have for tattoos/lollies.
Another drop off this weekend 17th Sat 3-5pm at Attunga self storage
Frisbee may have to share court with cricket.
Canteen: Claire B; have to change shifts. Few people interested in taking over canteen next year.
Helping to organise spring fair meeting this Friday to finalise numbers & menu.
Printing next for menu’s etc for spring fair.
Uniform Shop: Julie Q
Good feedback for next accounting & direct deposit.
Gmail account for uniforms – not much uptake – Lance to advertise on Facebook.
There will be Orientation & sports pack for kindys again – will go out for kindy information night.
New reminder notes for orders.
New stocks coming in next few weeks.
Grounds: Troy P.– he has been watering oval & now raining so will be green for Spring Fair. Bindy’s
++ despite 4 x sprays. Kevin from Globe Aust ground keeping – will come up & look at for a plan for
next year, but keep going with spray & hopefully will kill them in next few weeks. Troy will clean up
down side for Fair.
Play & Chat: Rebecca T– going well & fun despite raining & new families attending. Barbara idea to
have similar for kids Mural ready for Spring fair have 12 off cuts from – will continue to work on.
Julie can we have a uniform shop sign – use panels maybe to direct parents to uniform shop.
Grants: Barbara – we have received the $1200.00 into our account from Telstra – big thank you
Barbara & Nola Young– Telstra contact. Discussion as to how to spend the money. Barbara will put
up a thank you on the Telstra website. Telstra do not require a report about usage of funds.
Discussion with John from Drumming & Mr Tomlins & Mr Kitchen & discuss next meeting in Nov.
Sporting school grant: Barbara: applications open in November. Mr Kitchin will register school. Look
for what is available & Mr Kitchin will explore & discuss next meeting. It is about involving kids in
sport.
Barbara: Chalk boards free standing around school. Need to buy chalk board paint – use funds not
spent on murals on paint.
