8:00 am - 11:00 am
Arrival & Check-in, Pulver Pavilion, Cotter Union
Check-in and receive your Welcome Packet and keys.
At check-in, you will receive important information regarding the Orientation Program. After checking in,
you will be directed to your residence hall to move in. Student leaders will be available to help with your
move in.
If you are unable to arrive before 1:00pm, Welcome Packets will be available at the Information Desk from
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, after 4:00 pm they will be available at the Security Office located in Roberts Union.

Warm Up, Joseph Family Spa, Cotter Union
Enjoy Complimentary coffee and breakfast treats to help get the day started.
8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Residence Hall Move-In, Various Residence Halls
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Lunch will be available in Dana Dining Hall ($6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 3 and younger).
A la Carte options available at the Joseph Family Spa, located in the Pulver Pavilion, Cotter Union.

Reception with President Adams, Diamond Atrium, Diamond Building
Join President Adams, Dean of Faculty, Lori Kletzer and Dean of Students, Jim Terhune, along with Colby
staff for coffee and dessert prior to the afternoon programs.
1:45 pm - 2:30 pm

A formal welcome and remarks by President Adams, Dean of Faculty, Lori Kletzer and Dean of Students,
Jim Terhune
2:45 pm - 3:30 pm
Student Life at Colby, Diamond Auditorium, Diamond Building
As you begin your transition, there are many connections we hope you will make. During this session,
learn of the many support systems and student involvements in place for students. What does it mean to be
involved at Colby College and where can you find those connections? Campus Life Staff and the Dean of
Students Staff will connect you.

First Class, Lovejoy Classrooms:100, 119, 205, 208, 213, and 215
The "First Class" program is an opportunity for students to participate in a meaningful classroom
experience as an introduction to academic and intellectual life at Colby. Distinguished members of Colby's
faculty will lead classroom discussions and will provide an overview of the liberal arts with essential
information related to academic success.

Meet with LINK leaders for dinner and conversation

Evening Program
Please join your Community Advisors, LINK leaders and fellow students for an informal evening
program. This is a great opportunity to meet students living in you residence hall and across
campus.

C2IT - Colby Community Involvement Trips
Introduction to Community Engagement with the Colby Volunteer Center
What does it mean to be an active member healthy community and what are the rights and
responsibilities that accompany that privilege? Colby Volunteer Center leaders will share their
experiences as members of the Colby and greater Waterville communities.
C2IT Experience - Colby Community Involvement Trips
You will spend the day with a small group of peers learning about Waterville and participating in
a variety of projects with student leaders. Enjoy lunch with your group at a local restaurant, and
learn more about your role in the larger community while at Colby and beyond!

Iced COOT
Iced COOT is an outdoor-based student orientation program that is required of all First Semester
Away (FSA) Colby College students. Iced COOT trips are designed to be fun and engaging while
preparing students for their transition to living and learning on campus. Iced COOT trips provide
students with the opportunity to develop meaningful social connections while engaging in an
appropriate level of challenge through a wide range of outdoor experiences. Outdoor activities for
this year include dog-sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and an
introduction to ice fishing and winter survival skills.
