This year’s Philanthropy motto is “Collaborate and Move!” In addition to our ongoing CU-AMC Student Senate sponsored philanthropy and diversity activities, we are excited to expand our CU-AMC student involvement in the community with your help! Last year, there were XXX different canned food drives led by different student organizations and school programs. Can you imagine the impact we could have on our community if we could coordinate our volunteer efforts across the disciplines? We would like to get involved in the truest interdisciplinary sense and make your individual volunteer events successful through participation from all the programs and all the schools! However, we need your help to do this. We need to know what events you have planned, who the point contact is for that event, and how we can help. In addition to building a collaborative, interdisciplinary student body here at CU-AMC, we want to further establish our commitment as healthcare professionals to our community. Student Senate has several ongoing volunteer opportunities available to students. This includes our Saturday Sports Club (SSC) at Paris Elementary and the upcoming Paris Pals mentoring program. SSC is every other Saturday at Paris elementary school, which is only one mile from campus! Paris Pals is a penpal-based mentoring program beginning August 14th. For more information on these, and other volunteer opportunities, please visit the student senate website: www.ucdenver.edu/studentsenate I am very hopeful that we can begin collaborating among the different programs here at CU-AMC and moving our community involvement forward. I would greatly appreciate it if the class officers and/or philanthropy coordinators in each class in each program could contact me and begin our transformation to a truly collaborative campus, actively involved in our community! Thank you so much!
