SAMPLE LETTER TO PARENTS: OPENING MEETING OF RUACH YEAR Shalom! I hope you had a wonderful summer. My summer went quickly of course. As fall approaches I am very excited to resume our Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! gatherings. I’m so glad your daughter is going to continue in our Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! group – we have a great year planned! Please mark your calendar for our first gathering: Sunday, September 11, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Amanda Cohen’s house – 1433 Whitney Way The girls will celebrate the new moon, talk, plan, create, have fun and as usual, eat pizza! The [name of organization] is continuing to help underwrite the cost of the program. They are asking for $[amount] from each participant this year to help cover the curriculum costs, project materials, and leadership expenses. Scholarships are available. Our meetings will continue to take place in homes, and each girl is invited to host, providing meeting space for private discussion and crafts, and snacks, pizza, and drinks. Please look over the proposed list of gathering dates. I’ll have a sign up sheet for hosting at our first meeting. Thank you again for making this possible. Finally, 8 out of 9 girls will continue with our group this year. I’d like to invite friends of your daughter who are members of [name of organization] to join our group. I’ll be calling all the girls at the end of August to see who they would like to invite. Thank you for your continued support.
