Discussion with champions
a. How many times?
b. What are the major comments/conclusion from the discussion
We met one time on Dec. 5 when Dr. Jeff Foerster was visiting. But we did
not have time to discuss any project related issues. We have arranged a meet on
Dec. 13 to talk about the pest density forecast model.
3.
Progress between last month and this month
a. Summary of key findings and innovation, and/or
b. Negative results and their consequences, and/or
c. Cross-project synergy
A web-based data query interface (as shown at below) has been developed
to access historical and real-time data measured from the greenhouse.
Real-time data can be obtained via the interface at below.

Although the gateway of the system operates on commercial electricity grid,
it still suffers from bad power quality (due to many industrial equipment). An
uninterruptable power system has been installed to provide stable power source.
We’ve changed the power connectors used for the sensor nodes and
gateway to USB connector. It would be more convenient for the greenhouse
owners to recharge the battery. In order to improve the recharge efficiency of the
battery, the maximum recharging current is modified to 6 ampere.
In order to shorten the duration of each round of transmission, the procedure
of the localization process has been optimized. Sensor node establishes and
updates the RSSI table when it receives any packets from other sensor nodes.
On Nov. 8, the Co-PI met Dr. Yeh from Prof. YJ lee’s team to talk about the
demo in Jan. On
On Nov. 19, the Co-PI sent a list of practical challenges to the teams in
SIGARC, and the Co-PI joined the SIGARC meeting on Nov. 27 to talk about
potential solutions for the challenges.
4.
Brief plan for the next month
a. Updated view of planned milestones, deliverables, and success criteria
In December, the demo system will be ready to demonstrate how
greenhouse operates when the sensor nodes are able to talk to each other.
