Integrated Math 1
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the beginning of an exciting new year. I promise to do my very best to guide and
support all students to achieve success in this class and beyond. My goal is that each student will
learn and grow as they master the concepts for Integrated Math 1 and build a foundation for
Integrated Math 2. I feel the following guidelines and policies are necessary for success…
Teacher
Ms. Tawni Paradise

General Class Information
 Students are required to bring a PENCIL, their binder (to keep all work), their TI-84
graphing calculator (or equivalent) and a separate spiral bound notebook to every class.
 I expect all students to be in class on time every day. The O’Farrell Charter School
tardiness policy is as follows:
1st Tardy- Phone call home and Warning
2nd Tardy-Phone call home and Detention
3rd Tardy-Phone call home and Friday Night School/Saturday School
4th Tardy-Phone call home and In School Suspension
5th Tardy-Phone call home and Saturday Suspension
 Students are allowed to make up work from any excused absences within the same
number of days they missed. It is the student’s responsibility to get and complete the
assignment.
 If a student misses a test or quiz, it will be counted as a zero until it is made-up. Students
with unexcused absences will not be allowed to make up missed assignments, tests,
and/or quizzes and will not receive credit.
Homework & Grading
 All assignments are listed on the ‘Schedule of Assignments’ which will be passed out at
the beginning of each chapter. The schedule includes problems assigned from the
textbook. All homework will be due at the end of the unit, the day that the unit test will
be taken, unless otherwise specified.
 Your assignment progress will be checked periodically.
 If it appears the student is not completing their homework in on a regular basis,
parental contact will be made.
 In order to receive full credit on any assignment, all work must be included. A numerical
answer alone will not receive full credit even if it is correct.
 The course will be graded using the following scale:
100–89.5% = A, 89.4–79.5% = B, 79.4-65% = C, below 65% = F.
 The overall percentage will be determined in the following manner:
Homework & Classwork = 20%
Daily Exit Slips = 5%
Projects = 10%
Tests/Quizzes = 40%
Midterm & Final = 25%

The O’Farrell Charter School progressive disciple policy will be followed.
